He got hurt during his peak. In this era I don’t see any new talent that could bounce back from that. Expectations might have been high from some people but that’s likely because WWE needs main eventers who aren’t part timers.

He faces two of the best heels they had with zayn and Owens at mania and after that if he was hot he could have carried that in to any feud

Nobody talking bout that shyt no more. They were also a product of that garbage storyline with Shane. That shyt would have even killed CM punk returning. Im not even a mark for the dude so kill that noise. The product is just awful and a returning Bryan couldnt save it

Only wrestlers really moving the needle in 2018 outside the ring are Young Bucks, Omega, and Cody Rhodes.
Yeah, there are no big needle movers right now. Pretty much everyone is either forced, or poorly utilized. Seth could be it over...everybody. He's got the hot hand. They can still salvage it by making Dean turn on him, but right now? He, like most other things are a victim of mediocre storytelling and not striking while the iron is hot. This Roman/Brock match should at the least have him in it...
Back to Bryan, his in-ring his routine just has not stood out on its own much this run. I thought his gauntlet was by far the best showing. It showed he's still got it, can wrestle dynamically instead of just his WWE babyface routine, and they did the underdog thing well. Coincidentally that was also the match type that seemed to pull Seth out of the abyss. It was the only thing to really give back that "old feeling".
But that was just one night, and unlike Seth there wasn't much to write home about after.

I disagree, I think every time he got a singles match on SD it stood out as a very good-to great TV match that felt different from the stuff everyone else in the roster is doing

They got freaked out when Rock and Brock left in 04 (though they fault) so everyone is kept at a level, even Cena is company. You wont get dudes like Hogan and Austin knowing they worth to the company
