Yall keep saying it came and went, but what album doesnt come and go in this era? Cruel Summer is already being forgotten, Lupes shyt will not be dicussed past the middle of October, hardly ANYONE here talks about Killer Mikes album.

When was the last time a thread was made on Stone Immaculate?

How bout 2 ChaiNz wack shyt?

Just the fact that this same thread has been made about GFID at least 3 times since it dropped lets me know its still on ur mind(t/s is also a C level troll).

The only albums that have CONTINUED to garner attention on this forum are LIG and GFID....ironically they are the two best albums that dropped this year whether yall wanna admit it or not

Album had heat, but Rich Forever is the better album. I can't be mad at a man that gave me that much heat in such a short period of time.

GFID is a solid album. 7/10 and Ross did decently over the beats. To me, it's his 2nd best album (Teflon Don is my personal favorite) with DTR right behind it.

As far as sales go... yeah they're underwhelming considering he sold 700k+ on TD and it looks like he'll scratch across gold on this one. Then again, the big singles aren't on this album in comparison to TD. Ross needs to find that balance again if he wants to remain a relevant commercial artist for the future.

And the sales argument is weird being that TD dropped in 2010 when sales overall were much better. NO ONE has sold a million copies in hiphop or rnb this year. Ross outsold Usher, Chris Brown, and Kanye and friends first week. The album was his biggest first week ever even though he didnt have a smash hit to drive sells through the mainstream. And stop pretending like TD scanned 700k fhe first year of its release, it took a while for that album to reach those numbers, he still could outsell TD eventually

Im not shytting on it, i bought that album. Im just showcasing how silly this "came and went" argument is that these dudes around here use until u talkin about an album they like. By the t/s definition EVERY album released so far this year has come and gone.

Overall much better? GFID actually sold MORE first week than TD did. But yet right now TD is the same pace essentially as GFID with less sales. Ross just cleared 400k. And comparing rap sales to R&B sales is a waste of time, though he did do better than them.

Just to put it in perspective... this is Teflon Don's sales 2 months after release (Sept. 2010):

http://www.ukmix.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=75112&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=teflon%20don&start=25

26 ROSS*RICK TEFLON DON 13,408 2 13,156 395,310

http://http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/news/id.21300/title.hip-hop-album-sales-the-week-ending-9-23-2012

#46. Rick Ross - God Forgives, I Don't - 10,000 (408,000)

So that's only 15k better than Teflon Don in the same period of time despite debuting 20k higher with GFID than TD.

So with that said... how is he gonna outsell TD without the big singles to back it?

It wasn't any more "high budget" than Teflon Don (which had Kanye/Jay/Puff/Ne-Yo/Trey Songz/Drake/TI), but it did fail to make him a bigger rap star or cross over.

I didn't like it as much as his other albums when it dropped but that was probably because of how overexposed he is right now. Between his other albums I was waiting for new Ross material, between this one and his last one he dropped a few mixtapes and group albums and I didn't look forward to new Ross music as much.

It was as good as most of his albums musically though. Lyrically he went in on Ashamed, Amsterdam, and Presidential.

My only point was that Ross had his highest first week ever in what will go down as the worst year of hiphop sales EVER. That in itself is an accomplishment. Honestly i would be shocked if this did eventually become his highest selling album because next year sales are gonna be worse. GFID will probably tap out at about 650k.

I just think some people (not me though) have gotten tired of Rick Ross making similar music based around fairy tales about his life. But i take the music for what it is and that's entertainment. Though i have not heard this album bumped as much it's still a damn good listen and on par with his other albums. Cats just have their run and then fans move on to the next new fad.

to be honest i thought it was kinda of a dud even though a i loved it at first, i attrivute it to the quick consumption (at least for me) i played it non stop for like 5 days and then the next big album came out, downloaded that, same thing happened, etc. I listened to it the other day and I was like "wooww man what the fukk this is a pretty dope album"
