It's over produced in my opinion. There's a certain rawness lacking. It's also hard to differentiate one song from another. All of it sounds the same. Not a bad album just nothing earth shattering and too typical of Ross. Kinda reminds me of Game's albums. Both of them made the same albums over and over again. True definition of typical.

I swear the lifetime for albums to be digested is getting smaller and smaller these days.

I'm still bumping GFID and im sure the clubs are playing that "Hold Me Back" record too. You are right in the sense that none of the singles have hit like B.M.F did, but BMF IMO will go down has one the songs of the year/era when its all said and done. It was always gonna be hard for Ross to follow that up.

I def. think his more soulful grown man stuff is at its peak on this album and its def. the Ross I prefer to hear. "Diced Pineapples, Amsterdam, MMIV, Ten Jesus Pieces, 3 Kings". All them joints are heat. And his lyrics, concepts, production have all improved. I dont know what people are talmbout he regressed and he needs to go back to DTR.

I think if he trimmed the album down, cut Touch N You and that song with omarion, and went with presidental and diced (Put that has the single minus the corny spoken word bs) has his commerical/girl tracks, the haters might be chirpin' a different tune.

For me its right behind TD in his catalog.

First bold, thats true for the most part. But thats because we are exposed to a wild varitey and quantity of music. Old nikkaz ain't really going away either, not saying they should though. Years ago, we only heard a few nikkaz at a time and their exposure was pretty much filtered through the labels and radio. We have the internet now, we can listen and watch anybody at any given time. Mixtapes are like albums and they gettin dropped weekly. Hip hop was always about whats fresh and whats new so by next week, its on to the next one. Not saying I agree that it should be that way, but thats just how it goes.

Second bold, i kind of agree with. Those songs were weak sauce including diced pineappples (still dont believe the hype in this song). Hold me Back was corny and 911 was a lil better, but these forced bangers are getting tired and repetitive. How many of times you gon pretty much make the same song in the same structure?

Realistically, the album only had like 5 dope songs and a pretty much forgettable 10. Thats 5 out of 15, so the album was mostly weak. Certain songs may stand tall, but the album as whole really ain't shyt.

Had a lot of cool tracks on the album, some skippables there but album is definitely not trash.

It was noticeable that he had no good singles like his other CD's but that don't matter to me personally, i'm not an A&R or a label exec.

The problem was it got delayed wayyy too long and his first few singles that we're dope got cut. Stay Schemin, love my bytches, and that just blaze joint shoulda been on there in the worst way. The chick songs that made the album like the Usher and Omarion one sucked balls. This album was soft. And the bangers all sounded the same, same fukkin beat over and over!!

Its been like 3 months. I dont think this album needs more time to "digest" than that

Im glad you liked it :ehh:

Honestly I could care less what clubs are playing. Im judging the album on its musical merits and I found it underwhelming.

In what ways did you think Ross evolved on this aside from stepping up the beats and features?

i don't know if i agree or disagree, but shyt dropped july 31. stop being a lame, it's been barely two months. my aoty i need to be able to go back to 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months later, and still enjoy the shyt to relatively the same extent at all those different times.

For me 3 months is still too short for me to put a nail in the coffin in this album and Rick Ross. But, like someone said, music's shelf life is growing shorter and shorter.

I only bring up the clubs because you was talking about impact. When that song drops in the club, atleast the clubs ive been to, Its garnered a huge reaction. There aint no big "Top 10 records played in club list" where I can go to to back it up. So Im also relying on Word of mouf.

Your talkin' bout musical mertis but for me the album displayed his improving lyricism, concepts, songs, and production. You said the nikka got outshined by his production. On none of the songs was this nikka offbeat, sounded terrible, or completely outplace on the album ( "Summer on Smash"). I never got that argument. How can you fault a nikka for choosing great beats?

I dont think or said he's stepped up his features. The guests on there are who i expected. JayZ seems to be a staple on the rauce albums, he's been collabing with Nas (Didnt think to include the bonus tracks, but that tripple beam dreams :ohlawd:), MMG is a given. I dont count Dr.Dre cause I've never listened to records to hear Dre rap. It woulda been bigger if he produced the record instead. So its only 3stacks. And who doesnt get outshined by 3stacks on a track :yeshrug:.
