:piss:

Does anyone still listen to it even? It didnt have half the impact of Teflon Don or even Self Made Vol 1

Ross phoned the shyt in and got outshined by ALL of his guests and producers. It was basically like "Hey! Look at me and my talented friends!" :krs:

Andre 3000 is on the track singing and harmonizing and basically spazzing out, stealing the show while Ross is saying NOTHING. Its like, why would I want to hear anything from "the first guy" after that? :beli:

None of the singles really connected, and theres basically no quotables or anything memorable to take from the album but having Dr Dre and Jigga on a song, Andre 3000 and a Drake hook...

He kinda dropped the ball badly :yeshrug:

I think this was supposed to be the album that launched Ross into "icon" status...It lacked cohesion and felt bloated and forced for the most part

It was less about Ross himself, and he basically relied on "power moves" that felt hollow when everyone that he showcased to us, showed him up

He also regressed lyrically from DTR and TD. Where was the heat like Valley of Death, Mafia Music 1+2, Diamonds and Maybachs, Live Fast Die Young. He actually went in on those records...

Like i said when this thread was made two weeks ago

Amsterdam is a top 3 song of the year and one of his best songs ever so I really disagree with you.

Ashamed and 10 Jesus pieces are also great songs.

I think it's his second best album imo, and once diced pineapples drop he probably gonna move alot more units.

It might end up being his best selling album, so I'm not sure how he dropped the ball.

I swear the lifetime for albums to be digested is getting smaller and smaller these days.

I'm still bumping GFID and im sure the clubs are playing that "Hold Me Back" record too. You are right in the sense that none of the singles have hit like B.M.F did, but BMF IMO will go down has one the songs of the year/era when its all said and done. It was always gonna be hard for Ross to follow that up.

I def. think his more soulful grown man stuff is at its peak on this album and its def. the Ross I prefer to hear. "Diced Pineapples, Amsterdam, MMIV, Ten Jesus Pieces, 3 Kings". All them joints are heat. And his lyrics, concepts, production have all improved. I dont know what people are talmbout he regressed and he needs to go back to DTR.

I think if he trimmed the album down, cut Touch N You and that song with omarion, and went with presidental and diced (Put that has the single minus the corny spoken word bs) has his commerical/girl tracks, the haters might be chirpin' a different tune.

For me its right behind TD in his catalog.

Its been like 3 months. I dont think this album needs more time to "digest" than that

Im glad you liked it :ehh:

Honestly I could care less what clubs are playing. Im judging the album on its musical merits and I found it underwhelming.

In what ways did you think Ross evolved on this aside from stepping up the beats and features?

On the musical merits thought it was dope, maintained the same consistent level of quality as his past two joints...commercially and impact wise it didn't really do what a lot of people, including me, thought it'd do...figured it had a good chance to be a singularly defining album this year and the one that took him to that next level of superstar, earn him his first platinum album...didn't turn out to be the case...it was his biggest first week, but kinda marginally so...he didn't really make that jump
