:martin: Really? That's pretty much understood. One company has produced a show that is going into its 3rd season and about to have literally 5 spinoffs. Hell, even CW gets it right on their channel and are able to produce spinoffs. Do we know if this show will make it pass next season? You got arguably the dopest character out there with dope side characters and has a nice villain gallery. I'm one of the ones who wants a Batman show, call me greedy but Fox's pockets ain't my concern. We talking about a shows quality and they are pretty much bottom of the barrel. Does Fox even get a portion of the movie revenue? If they do doesn't mean they can't make a better show. If they don't, then what the fukk they waiting on cause in all honesty they paid a bunch of money for a license to a character and his universe to tell a story about his side character.
I don't even know what you are talking about, Warner bros owns batman not Fox. Fox don't gave the rights to batman they just happen to have a show in the batman universe. Even if the show was on tv for 15 years young Bruce will just be a 20 something still learning to be batman. There has got to be a clause (thankfully) that prevents them from going full tilt in raiding like arrow does. Its the reason we got Jerome instead of joker

Naw Fox bought all the TV rights for Batman to make Gotham. They supposedly paid a lot for it too, this is probably why they killed off Batman's villains on Arrow

From Fox's chairman....

"We own all the rights. That's what we're licencing. [Warner] brought us the entire franchise for a very healthy licence fee. We're not negotiating this piece meal. We have all of the underlying Batman rights for the entire franchise for this series. "That's what I like about this, it's not some sort of adjunct companion series. This is the Batman franchise, just backing it up. I think that gives it a real focus as to what the show is about and what stories we're telling. "Warner Brothers manages the entire franchise and its one of their top global franchises of all. So there will be an awareness of both and we'll have to coordinate when we're in the market place, but the productions are not piggy-backing off one another."

That's why it's retarded that they made Gotham

After re-reading the chairman's quote, you probably are right. Sounds like he might be gassing it up on the front end like they own "all" the rights and can use anybody at anytime but they probably only have access to a portion of characters or can only use certain characters at certain times. Like you said Fox probably can't just use anybody, which is a good thing for WB. Again me being selfish, I want to see Batman in a weekly show but looks like it ain't happening yet. WB gets to keep their money maker on the big screen and make bank and Fox gets a little rub using the bat universe. Overall though, I feel Fox can produce a better show than what they have even with the side characters. Other channels dropping must see tv with B or C tier characters, no reason Fox shouldn't be able to with that universe.
