So Fox (TV) has all the rights to Batman and every related character but decided to make "Gotham"

Maybe the character as an IP is too expensive/lucrative to get away with lowballing actors, if you give bruce wayne's actor a huge check it's a domino effect; everyone else is gonna want one. Which runs up the budget. Same with superman. I'm just tossing ideas around...

Did any of y'all watch Smallville? That's what the creators were trying to channel not an actual Batman story.

I actually like Gotham because it stopped being a cop procedural and now have multiple arcs going on at the same time.

I wish somebody else had the license like HBO honestly, HBO need to stop being such pussies and get an acclaimed comic book license.
Them doing comic book character shows might be beneath them.. and I say this by the way that carry and portray themselves as to the public and media.

-And Fox really dropped the ball with Gotham. Watched the first season and stopped two episodes into the second season. The show never knew what it wanted to be imo. They were all over the place.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
:dwillhuh: we could've gotten an early 20s Rookie Batman fighting the up in coming villains but they decided to go with little Bruce and young Gordon :beli:

Edit:

From Fox's Chairman
and you don't think they'll do that?

they just started season 3... 20 some damn eps a season... that "kid" is going to be 18 with a full beard in 2 years

they just trying to milk this shyt for the long game

Looking at the success of "Daredevil" on Netflix. They could've produced a hour long, live action Batman series. NO EXCUSES. These clueless studio heads are RUINING DC's live action properties.

The premise of this thread is short sighted, why would they want to make a dope live action batman show when batman is WB biggest cash cow at the big screen? some of you people crack me up.

Watched this past week's episode. They've introduced powers. I know they're taking liberties with the universe but I don't know about this.

And they randomly aged Ivy because "she wasn't sexy" actual quote.

Might not be keeping up with this for much longer

:martin: Really? That's pretty much understood. One company has produced a show that is going into its 3rd season and about to have literally 5 spinoffs. Hell, even CW gets it right on their channel and are able to produce spinoffs. Do we know if this show will make it pass next season? You got arguably the dopest character out there with dope side characters and has a nice villain gallery. I'm one of the ones who wants a Batman show, call me greedy but Fox's pockets ain't my concern. We talking about a shows quality and they are pretty much bottom of the barrel. Does Fox even get a portion of the movie revenue? If they do doesn't mean they can't make a better show. If they don't, then what the fukk they waiting on cause in all honesty they paid a bunch of money for a license to a character and his universe to tell a story about his side character.
