So Fox (TV) has all the rights to Batman and every related character but decided to make "Gotham"

well since they own the rights they probably didn't want to mess up the movie tie ins and probably makes more sense to go with some of the lesser characters.

I still like Gotham. What else is there to watch at 8 PM on Mondays? Gotham City is supposed to be in chaos when Batman shows up so why should anyone expect anything other than what they are doing with the show. Some people complain about the villain's ages in the show but they pretty much line up with what they are once Year One Batman starts

I have enjoyed the manic energy of this goofy show. Its like people making Gotham made a conscious decision to take aspects of the 66 Batman, Burton's Batman and Nolan's Batman, threw them in a blender and ended up with some odd campy pseudo noir action TV series.

The reality is they didnt trust themselves to make an action based tv series...they thought there was a reason for it to be more drama based...successes of daredevil, early arrow, etc should change their mind though...gotham ran its course relatively quickly

There's a TV series based on Flash who shoots lightning out of his body every time he runs. That show features a man-shark, a giant talking gorilla, a man that can create tornadoes, 2 dudes that become 1 dude who is constantly engulfed in flames, and a shytload of other effects heavy characters.

Batman has no powers and most of his villains don't either. Batman would be literally one of the cheapest hero shows to make.
