Its clear RGIII is a bit conservative but I say good for him. Im glad he is settled and married and will likely stay home and focus on perfecting his craft ala Brady. Aren't there enough single athletes fukking and impregnating random broads across the country? Do you really need more fuel for the gossip rags? I feel RGIII cornball tendancies will likely keep him on the straight and narrow, unlike other previous stars like T.O. and Ochocinco...

Wth? Tom Brady knocked up Bridget Monagan then got married to Gisele while Bridget was pregnant

Lets be real he only got suspended cause WHITE PEOPLE was mad that he said he had a white finacee. Meantime if they actually see an interracial couple they call the white girl a ****** lover. thats why im not down with the suspension for the wrong reason

I hate when people say "how do you sound white" or "How can a person act a certain color" because we all know what that means and it just can't be described. It is just a sense you get. It is the same sense you get when you are around a racist cac or around a gay person..you just know. It is RG3 mannerisms and how he carries himself and you just get that sense that he is a Tom. As black people, we have a universal understanding of things and you can tell when some don't. It is just hard to explain but it is there. You and another black person whom you never seen before can be a room full of white people and one of them does something crazy or stupid; you can look across the room and see the other black person and with just a look, you both have that universal understanding that white people are crazy or you both need to leave out of there or ect... And with RG3, you just get that sense that he is not like that or have that feel of camaraderie that we have for each other like if we was in a room full of cacs, he would not give you eye contact or seek you out being the only 2 blacks in the room

You think with all the gearing towards a black audience that First Take has taken on(multiple black analysts, rappers being guests, MMG doing the song for the show, most arguments centering around black athletes)...that they'd risk keeping a dude who would offend an ever growing demographic (college educated blacks) ?

of all people, a black man should know what type of shyt he shouldn't ever say on national TV..he got way too comfortable, said some shyt he can't take back and lost his job over it.

to get to that point career-wise, u should know we're held to a different standard. even if he is a victim of double standards, it's no excuse.

nah, He asked that question cause RG3 don't exhibit any nikka tendencies...the fact that he's dating a white woman, and is comfortable with how goofy he is don't sit well with him.

he doesn't question Mike Vicks "blackness",cause he comes from a fukked up household, went to prison, has a aint shyt brother and had a bunch street nikkas in his circle....
You might be right.

But most black persons  (and some non-blacks) WILL ACKNOWLEDGE that there are black people in America
with various values systems and
from diverse edu backgrounds and
at diff socioeconomic strata.
There is a spectrum of AfAms. We are not monolithic.
--We are not ALL upper middle class Cosby kidz raised in pricey brownstones.
--We are not ALL ghetto urban thugs raised by single moms.
--We are not ALL superstar entertainers/rappers/athletes.
--We are not ALL philanthropists or activists or black panthers who fight the power.
--We are not ALL Herman Cain token types. <_<
But we could all name at least one AfAm person in each category.

Ex: A black person who was raised in the 'burbs and attended private school WILL ACKNOWLEDGE that there are ghetto negro drop-outs in the hood.
Ex: A broke inner-city black person WILL ACKNOWLEDGE that there are black superstars with millions of dollars.
Ex: black ivy league academics WILL ACKNOWLEDGE the black illiterate bush league folk among us

So IF you hear of/meet a new AfAm and want to classify them (AS PARKER SEEKS TO DO WHEN AT THE BARBERSHOP WITH HIS FRIENDS), THEN you must gather info about them first. That's why Parker asked the question. He wants to fit RG3 into a category. Parker wants to racially pigeonhole this new kid DIRECTLY FOLLOWING RG3'S PRESS CONF REQUEST NOT TO BE PIGEONHOLED BASED ON RACE. <--- hmmmmm  Maybe Parker's question WAS malicious at its core? ( ._.) I don't know. I'm not in Parker's head.

Mike Vick was hella easy for Parker to categorize when Vick entered the league/before he had media training. (-_~. ) Look and listen. Just look and listen.

Thanks for rouge vs rogue. My old blackberry corrected errors. This new android throws me _directly_ under the bus. (Rouge is make up, right?)

@Born2BKing come on man, who cares. Allen west is married to a sister who do you choose, him or RG3.

You live in the south, up there no one cares about this stuff.

They are trying to get those ratings up as well, they thought this was going to move the meter in their favor as far as more exposure. It's just ironic that Rob Parker is describing someone as a cornball.

But I will say this, Blacks are the most diverse and multi-demensional group of people on the planet, but yet, we are the most scrutinized because of it.

You gather all this HOW? Is he elitist and condescending during press conferences? On twitter? On facebook? In printed articles that quote him directly?
Most of the time he's on tv, RG3's helmet is on and his face is obscured.

To me, RG3 comes across as a well-grounded but naive, wide-eyed youngster with floppy hair and a not-cute face who is delighted with the Redskins victories and the media attention and the action figures in his locker. Dood was probably sheltered as a kid. Likely raised in a Christian home. Kinda bland. Young and simple like Tebow (and my baby bro).
Don't try to plumb the depths.
AINT NO DEPTHS.

BUT...
I admit that some people are great at reading other people intuitively. I admit that I give folks the benefit of the doubt when I am interested in them, but I can be EXTREMELY dismissive if I am not interested in a person. wrt to the NFL, I am ENTIRELY too far up the Eagles' and Mike Vick's ass to pay attention to Redskins' and RG3's tv time (beyond taking racial pride in another young BLACK qb keeping his nose clean while winning frequently).

The problem with the term "Uncle Tom" aside from the fact that Uncle Tom was the hero in the story and Sambo was the one selling out his people is that people focus to much on mannerisms and feelings rather than actions. A nikka who perpetuates stereotypes and acts a certain way so he will be considered "real" or who dismisses the value of education or makes a habit of putting other black people down either figuratively and/or literally is more of a sellout than any nikka speaks or acts a certain way. The way that you speak and carry yourself is more so a function of how and where you were raised. What you decide to do as a grown ass man is far more telling of whether or not you are a sellout. I'ma need to see more than deciding to marry a white chick or the feeling that he might not acknowledge me if we were in the same room (pretty sure a lot of nikkas you consider "real" wouldn't give you too much eye contact or camaraderie) before I call a dude a sellout.
