Pretty sure dude playing Aladdin is Egyptian while Jasmine is half-Indian/half-White. I wouldn't it's white washing but they did look for the closest thing to light skinned.

On the Will news, I can't believe so many people online are surprised about Genie being black. I haven't even seen Aladdin on Broadway but where I live, they show a commercial every day during the news so I'm used to a black Genie.
