I should have more specific. Every damn movie he was in was a highly regarded blockbuster that positioned him and his brand perfectly. All that work added up to a public image where he can now repeatedly take roles in terrible movies and bring them to success on the strength of him being in it, or take stupid embarrassing roles and not cost his brand too much because it is what it is.
But look at EVERY role he's taken in the last decade, and how many times can you say, "Man, Will Smith, he did it again, that flick was fire!"
