The devs shot themselves by basing everything around a convoluted story where 47 is constantly on the run. Only a few missions (maybe 5 or 6, of like 20) have the similar open-ended feel of the old games.

Some of the missions just felt like they were there to push the story along. I found myself really not caring.

The disguise system isnt terrible when you think about it, even if there are blatant holes in the theory. I wish there just more instances where my heat was lower and I was able to walk around areas and just explore them without the immediate fear of being spotted and having to reload my save.

Overall, the good missions are good, and the bad ones are terrible. I give it a 7

Pros: Great visuals, high production values, tighter controls than ever
Cons: Lame level structure for the most part (I wonder why they decided to break certain parts up into segments vs full missions), too much pointless linearity, and an often hypocritical disguise system

This is a great action/stealth game, but a horrible Hitman game. Is it too much to ask for a authentic Hitman game after waiting 6 years? :why:
If anyones interested in sharing contracts, add me on PSN. JackVegas691.

I've never liked hitman before this one. Having said that I believe they are going to make up for the lack of open ended missions through the contracts. I think a lot of the 'official' IO contracts will actually be them putting in work to provide that traditional feel.

Hopefully they add some open ended sandbox missions for the hardcore fans.

Lets all tell them to do this on Hitman Twitter.

Ive done my part. Do yours.

Hitman 6 is a sequel to Hitman: Absolution and will be developed by Square Enix Montreal of Square Enix Europe along with Eidos Montreal. If so, this would
make it the only Hitman game so far not being developed by IO Interactive alone (even though Square Enix is credited on Absolution). Square Enix says this
game will be a "premium quality" game for the next generation consoles.

Hitman: Absolution Director discussing Hitman 6 and beyond:
Quote:
"It’s like with Treyarch and Infinity Ward," Blystad revealed. "You have an IP that has been developed. They will feed off each other, as well as somethings that stand out. I think with these big franchises it takes a long time to develop just one game. If you can, work a little bit in parallel at least and help each other out."

Its not even that this game is bad, its just misguided. They forced a story and linear mission structure onto us. It upset a lot of the old fans.

What they did with the engine was incredible though. If they made a DLC with like 3-4 more TRUE Hitman levels, Id be thrilled.

I sent them a tweet about that but i asked for 10 levels. I think we're money but if you and all of your friends on the planet could also send a tweet it would help a lot, friend. :umad:
