honestly thats no excuse. my mom was an immigrant and now she works in a fortune 500. I started working at 15 and got into a huge corporation at 20 and got into a mid tier international traveling job by 23. I never once thought about a massa. I know you're talking about collectively, however the fact that we 'know it' means we can divert it. its not like the past when we just didnt know, we were completely ignorant to the social and political complexity, we know it now, even if just 50%, thats a lot of fukking people. we need to do better. we need to start being harsh and hard on each other.
It's not going to be the masses of any community that will be self motivated at a young age, or do all this BS you're speaking on. I did madd shyt- military, degrees, IT career, and recently started my own shyt....
but I'm not an ignorant fool when it comes to social economic situations or the psychology of poverty. I also am not one to ignore Very recent history and how that effect situations. It's not like our parents aren't older than the time that blacks were starting to be accepted.... only in the 70's did we 'begin' to be slightly accepted. You're right you don't need cac to be successful. You don't and I don't. But for our entire communities to strive we need to first correct all the mental fukkkery that plagues most of us - and that's challenging with a social political and justice system designed (with hundreds of years of practice ) to keep you on the bottom.
shyt not going to happen over night just because a few black become successful, become MADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD detached from the root causes and them spout off all this BS bootstrap self reliance talk.
I can't speak this BS til I'm dead but that's not effective at all. That further divides us because each groups situation is different... You can't expect every lil boy from a neighborhood filled with crime and poverty, no role models, and no advice to be successful.... . just because 2 lil boys from their went to college.
Millions of young black become college graduates and enter in to professional fields and that number is decreasing. During the time of our parents all u could do is take care of your family.... only in the late 90's did we get in a position that enough of us are fully aware and able to make change.
This whole fix the 1600's - 1960's in a matter of 5 Minutes idea is ridiculous. Most of the people speaking like this aren't going to be effective to young black boys.
If you don't know what the design is then you don't know how to work around it or against it. nikka it's very easy for me to get all my sons to college, they are pretty much set up all ready. WTF does that matter if 20 million of their peers are living in situations more fukked up than you can imagine. I'm just saying, even someone like me who has never been bout that hood life, has sold drug, seen my own mom beat down by police, madd people shot at... just from living and trying to go about life as a kid. You don't know what people deal w. Young people are deal w more stuff than Me and You when they are children that affect their mentality later on in life.
Basically, chill. People are working. This Detroit shyt has been planned out for over 10 years but your talking about nikkas with limited incomes buying up property 20 years ago.. when the value of that land went down just from the idea of them living in the area and increases from the IDEA of who will now be living in the area.
you mom was an immigrant so I'm not gonna even try to explain how a lack of unity causes most of this and why we didn't even have that unity.
