Their natural instinct will always be to play that's all they know. Football has been coached that way to them since grade school. It you hurt, whether it's mentally or physically you play on, but sometimes management gotta protect people from themselves.

I'm not saying you gotta cancel the game, but give them a day or two to deal with the grief a little bit.

...why are you trying to dictate to THEM how they do or should feel? Have you polled them so as to definitively suggest that they need "protection from themselves"? Can you conclusively state the percentage of Chiefs players in that locker room whom you feel need to "deal with the grief"? For all we know, some of them may be like "damn, dude went out on some bytch shyt, fukk that nikka, then", who knows? Point is, you don't know HOW they feel, and I'm sure that if a nikka was too broken up to play he wouldn't play.

Y'all on here completely discounting the ability of grown ass men to discern shyt for themselves, acting like y'all have the authority to speak FOR them because they're somehow too stupid from too many blows to the head, or perhaps so blindly allied with the football gods to think rationally for themselves. :stopitslime:

You know damn well there would be a thread up in here and we'd all be watching it because we'd wanna know how the team would play after this craziness and so would everyone else. They'd have casual fans tuning in because this is one of those stories that goes beyond the sports page. They'd have an interview with Pioli and maybe Crennel at halftime. Whichever network would try to paint ole boy in a positive light even though he shot his BM and offed himself because the players will have done some sort of tribute.

Tragedy attracts viewers. Tell me I'm wrong. I know I ain't.

I think they should at least get a day. It wouldn't be the first time the NFL has had a double header on Monday. I only said Tuesday because I bet ESPN would protest it.

We'd have a thread on it because 1. we really love our football and 2. there's a thread on everything.

The problem is that Kassandra didn't play football, so the most tragic figure has nothing to do with the game, and nobody's gonna feel bad for Belcher. They'll do what they usually do in situations like this. Moment of silence, number on the helmet, initials on the helmet, and off they go. This will affect the Chiefs for the rest of the season. I just don't think they wanna inconvenience themselves and the Panthers by delaying the game further in the year since they need to get every game in, a game they've already been preparing for.

"The show must go on" is very cliched, but there's a reason why so many entertainers actually take that phrase to heart.

Guess all that sensitivity to players health (mentaly)and well being, goes out the window if they play.

Boy I hope the troubled mind of that player that killed himself, has to do with concussions.

Then what the NFL gonna say? It will look even worse if they play and someone else gets concussed, cause his mind was not "clearly" into the game.

the chiefs said they want to play. so they are playing. what exactly is the issue here?

Once these dudes find something to be fake angry/indignant about, there's no stopping them. Petty things like facts/the opinions of those involved in the actual story merely get pushed to the side for dumb ass nikkas to express opinions that don't matter in the slightest fukking bit.

Maybe if it would've happened earlier in the week, they would've postponed it, but you have to consider that at the point this happened too many things where already in motion for the game.
