NFL is about its paper....

This. Money will never take a backseat to tragedy or humanity. I guarantee most players heads probably will not even be in the game but I bet if the NFL threatens with some type of missed game=missed checks most would do a 180 on their moral stance.

<<The Standard>> hit on it a little bit in that a lot more than just the players would miss out on their money. The bigger the money involved the less respectful a business tends to be.

If the the crennel even hinted and canceling the game you know the nfl hit him with the :usure: so he was like "fine :sadcam:"

Exactly. One person shouldn't stop the show. Millions of dollars of advertisment, concessions, parking, vendor revenue would be lost. Why should everybody else suffer fror the actions of 1idiot?

yep, im no Roger apologist but you have to play

players wouldnt get paid, then DeMo Smith and NFLPA would be on his ass and it would be a mess.

If this happened in an office building they'd close shop at least for a couple of days, but in the NFL people are saying "the show must go on"

The athletes and coaches and GMs are people too

...except the players and coaches VOTED to play the game:

"After discussions between the league office, Head Coach Romeo Crennel and Chiefs team captains, the Chiefs advised the NFL that it will play tomorrow’s game..."

They're not being forced to....they WANT to.

Pretty sure if the league was FORCING the players to play, and the players didn't WANT to play and/or thought the game shouldn't proceed, then the game wouldn't be going forward.

C/S. Right? Like what was his 1-10 ass really going to say? Crennel was in the truest form of rock and a hard place. As a black head coach he basically has to put his dignity aside and be there regardless.

I don't see why they can't/couldn't delay until Monday night.

Owner probably told player, "fine don't play, then you won't get a game check :shaq:"

Players reaction: :shaq2:

All I know is, that blurb from Peter King says "the Chiefs advised the league..."

Sounds like the league left it up to them.

Again....I think if those players were like "yo, NO WAY we can play a game tomorrow!", then the league would have cancelled that jawn.

If y'all REALLY think the league is MAKING those players play, then you're also saying that those players are some spineless b*stards....because if the league was MAKING them play, you damn sure would have heard some of them complaining about it by now.

So that doesn't even make any sense.

Yeah, but an office wouldn't have all the outside factors relying on it that an nfl game does. Plus, ppl kill themselves at major corporations all the time and they don't close up shop.

I agree that the coaches/players prob won't be ready to play tomorrow, but that game shouldn't be stopped because of this. I'm just mad I couldn't get that Panthers -3 before the game got taken off the board this morning.
