This is what I mean when I speak on how ridiculous these next gen launches have been. Think about how you felt seeing something that innovative... there is no innovation with these consoles or games

Yea, having lived through those consoles in my formative years, I get it but we were also blessed to have experienced that.

But we also experienced 2 major shifts that were catalyst for that. The shift from 2d>3d and carts to cds.

I honestly think we’ll only get that feeling again with something that fundamentally changes how we interact with or consume games.

Dont know what the U.S release has to do with it , when you could technically get a ps2 by just importing one.
Plus, back then...Japan was still a juggernaut in gaming so i imagine developers were not waiting for the U.S release
to release the heavy hitters.

The ps2 officially came out March 2000.
Plus more than half of the biggest ps2 games were made in Japan.

Back in the early 2000s , a few hard-core gamers would import consoles and games due to games being region-lock. Release dates to matter , thays why I'm bringing up the date the ps2 released while yall moving the goalpost to only the US release date.
