Vancouver should get a team back. While I'm at it, so should Seattle. Bring back the Portland/Seattle/Vancouver Pacific Northwest rivalry. Once it was apparent the Grizzlies were doomed, the attendance was terrible. But before that, Vancouver was a very good crowd and they had great fans. Besides David Stern (former NBA commissioner) admitting that the Seattle situation was a huge regret of his (despite his involvement to get the team to OKC), he also admitted that the Vancouver situation bothered him.
Random thing to think about: even Montreal, bilingual and cold Canadian city that supposedly only cares about hockey, also sells out during NBA preseason games. And some people are shocked like, "They love basketball here." While most talks about NBA expansion include the usual cities like Seattle or Vegas or sometimes even Louisville, a few people threw Montreal's name in the hat too.
Canada loves basketball too and it will be good for the league when it's not just the Raptors representing the entire country. On a side note, if I were Francis, I would have gone to Vancouver and played hard. With the Canadian dollar being stronger against the American dollar now than it was then, the whole money issue isn't as severe now. Plus like mentioned in the thread, if you have money Vancouver is a great city. If you are moving to Vancouver as an NBA player selected in the lottery with All-Star potential, living in Vancouver and having a good home is not going to be a problem at all.
