They couldve drafted Iverson and Charlotte wasn't going to be able to keep that pick. They wanted Divac and Lakers asked Divac would he prefer Sac or Cha, he said Cha. Everyone was happy b/c Charlotte only wanted a big and saw no one in the draft. Lakers wanted cap room for Shaq and wanted a draft pick for Vlade. Kobe never said he didnt want to play like Eli.
