And he should have never been hanging with Lex. That was clearly another emotional nikka. He set off a chain of events that got him, Kevin, and Bodie killed and got Randy scarred for life. As Stephen King would put it, his actions led to a watershed moment. Those other guys played their role and attributed to their own downfall, no doubt, but Lex was the catalyst.
