Your confusing yourself
We were originally talking about the people from Benin and your claim that they were Egyptian descendents. When I asked you for proof you embedded a BBC yotuube link about the Dogon tribe.
What does the Dogon tribe being from Ancient Egypt have to do with the people of Benin?
Which scholars are making the claim that Beninoise people are from Ancient Egypt?
Where are tehse DNA studies that link the two peoples?
Why is it hard to believe that Benin mastered iron casting when the Mande and Yorubas had?
What does iron casting and having knowledge of astrology have to do with being Egyptian?
You're being a dikk. I knew exactly who he meant as soon as he said 'practice astrology and claim to be Egyptian descendants'. A simple, "did you mean Dogon" would have been suffice.
They did not get iron casting from the Mande or Yoruba because Dongon ancient art was found to be pre-dated and they are an isolated group. Yoruba and Mande are post AD empires.. Currently Nigerian, Algerian and French teams are excavating the area.
I haven't heard about the DNA part, but people from Mali do have relation to nubians. I believe their haplogroup is E1a, which is interesting because they're right in west africa, and have almost 50% east african genes, instead of being entirely E1b. It's all still being studied, who knows what the team will publish in the next decade.
You'd be surprised how many more teams are coming into Africa, my neighbors uncle who is half nigerian are trying to get chinese anthropologists to excavate the Angolan region. I dream of the day western, chinese, and african antrhopologists step their game up and compete in west africa. The more competition the more findings.
