Crixus still out there training whether it is rookie Thracians or spoiled rich kids. Agreed this might have been the best episode of the series, it was a good move to mainly focus on the backstory for the bulk of the episode.

Who could be hiring the mercenary goon to train all these people on the island and does it have something to do with the undertaking..

Hello, sweetie! Doctor Who's Alex Kingston will soon be joining The CW's Arrow in a recurring guest star role.
According to EW.com, the British actress will play Dinah Lance -- Laurel's mom and Detective Quentin's ex-wife -- who returns to Starling City to make amends with her family and find closure in the tragic death of her other daughter. In the comics, Dinah was the first Black Canary, with her daughter following in her footsteps - but so far on Arrow, we've yet to hear about any superhero alter ego in the Lance family...

Kingston will make her debut in an episode later this season.

I love that the entire episode was about the island, because I want to know (haven't read the comics) how Oli became the Arrow.

Oli on the island reminds me when Beatrix went to stay with Pai Mei, and she learned the five-point-palm-exploding-heart technique.

Also, where did Mrs. Queen learn how to shoot like that.

Me neither, so the island story has become much more interesting over the past few weeks. At times I find myself preferring the island story.
