I'm still trying to figure out why Dream and the dude from Rapperas I know decided to drop it now.

Like okay, because of that tweet? So you had this story for 5 years, let it float there on the rumour mill and now drop it?

I still feel like this is blown out of propotion and that Jay wrote as in produced songs for Nas, not literally sit there and give him raps to rap.

Stic Man cleared up, Nas been adamant about this (see the Big Boy interview where the rumour was address) we just need Jay E to clear that up (although you know he's loving this attention)

he's a more abstract, more off-beat, and more complex version of Nas :smugfavre:

You don't know how high the sky is
The square mileage of Earth, or what pi is
I'm the shaky hand that touched George Foreman in Zaire
The same hand that punched down devils that brought down the towers

that's Jay E

lol, the beat itself is off beat. the tempo is different for both parts.

peep this though, maybe jay e also wrote "revolutionary warfare", see how he mixes abstract thoughts, religion, self reflection, militant pro-blackness, conspiracy theory and hood shyt, just like in QGTM. he even uses the same flow, cadence and is off beat too. maybe jay e been writting for nas alot longer than yall realize.

[ame=http://soundcloud.com/user776313350/nas-queens-get-the-money]Nas queens get the money-revolutionary warfare by user776313350 on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free[/ame]

or maybe jay e just made the beat and has a similar rhyme style to nas who he credits as one of his biggest influences.

Especially a phone call that was made five years ago from a dude hasn't been the most clear dude on the face of the planet.

Reading thru her timeline heres what I gather:

1. She was responding to Harry Belefonte's criticism of Jay Z for not using his fame to be an activists

2. A fan asks why can't Jay put out something like Nas-Untitled, the point she was trying to make is "that doesn't count becuz Stic Man and Jay E wrote all the radical/political stuff". Basically Jay Z writes what he feels and Nas uses other peoples ideas. Then says shes not impressed by "Daughters" either (kinda implying that somebody might have wrote that for Nas too). But she liked Distant Relatives (without mentioning how much of that album was ghostwritten).

3. Then that weirdo uses the Dream Hampton tweets as an excuse to writes his trash blog post about a phone call he got at Hot 97 from Jay Electronica himself. And obviously the guy didn't ask any follow up questions...he just started crying.

4. Hours Later Dream Hampton says she heard 6 reference tracks.

Basically Dream Hampton set this off basically to take credit from Nas for doing that album. Her point is "Don't criticize Jay becuz no else is any better". So she may not have a reason to outright "lie" but she is spinning the truth to boost Jay by discrediting Nas...just like we do here on SOHH/The Coli.
