First things first. I have no issue with the money and yrs, clearly the market dictates tim deserves this type of money. We've seen just as many worse contracts this yr and recently, with the worst being Noah.

2nd, the problem I have is why the fukking knicks???? He does absolutely nothing for us, he isn't a young prospect who we can build with KP and possibly Frank. He won't help us win any games but he won't help us lose any games either. But we just tied up 17 mil a yr to him that could of been used elsewhere next yr or following yr.

Every time this organization takes a step forward we continue to take 2 back. You have 2 possible future pieces both under 21, lets stay that route and get great draft picks next two yrs while growing together. By the time KP is 25 and entering his prime, that's when we should be ready to take that leap.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Shabazz that had like 10 assists TOTAL last season?

He had 35, he only started 1 game and played just 19mpg, his role was to score. When he started 13 games 2 years ago he was averaging the same number of APG as Jae Crowder who you wouldn't even trade for Jimmy Butler.:stopitslime:

This reeks of one of those "win-now" moves the Knicks like to make for Melo.:scust:
I'm seriously confused.

Signing a 25 year old Timmy to a 4 year contract that is large enough to disrupt bigger veteran signings is a win now move?

I'm feeling an added "it's the Knicks so we have to hate it more" view on this.

The Sixers signed JJ Reddikk. Doesn't he win more games for the SiXErs than Timmy does for NY?

I don't hate it outright because I am assuming the Knicks have a trade or two to bring some equilibrium to the roster. If Melo is traded and the plan is to make KP the focus of the offense a shooter like Hardaway as his number 2 makes sense for spacing and general scoring. He's 25 so in theory the end of his contract (and prime) would align to the time our current youth (KP, Willy, Baker, and Frank) will be coming into their primes. Not knowing what other moves the Knicks are planning makes it hard to see this move in 20/20 but it's not lost on me that an hour after we hear the Knicks are making headway in sending Melo to Houston, the Knicks go and get somebody who could potentially carry the scoring load. The two are likely very much related

However looking at this deal in a NBA vacuum......

:scust: Horrible.

Signing THjr isn't so bad that it deserves all of this reaction imo. He's not good enough to stop the Knicks from tanking right now so I don't qualify this as a win now move, the Knicks are likely still one of the worst teams( if not THE worst) in the league with him on it and with Melo off of it. 18 mil is a lot and a slight overpay imo, but cats just a year younger than him are making 20+ mil just because of assumed potential, so it could be way worse. THjr is a hardworking guy who improved a lot in the last couple of years an he still hasn't likely hit his ceiling. Plus he's still young, so he fits in terms of building towards KP's prime. When you're a crappy, young team the players you want to sign are the rfa's of the league;guys still young enough to peak around the same time as the rest of your draft picks, and ain't no max players who are really worth the money coming here in the next two or three years, so who do we want to save this cap space for?

If you don't like THjr as a player and don't think he has a future with the team regardless, then I understand why you be vehemently against the move, but otherwise I don't see what's so catastrophically bad about the signing.
