I think the Knicks will be hungry this year. Unless frank is a major bust and the vet PGs go down with injuries leaving Ron baker to run the team I can't see the Knicks having any other major problems

Hardaway will be good I'm sure of it

Melo and Kp need breakout seasons

If they do everyone else can just be solid and injury free and Knicks will make playoffs.

I feel like we say this same shyt about Playoffs every year and by December we like "fukk it TANK!:to:"

Usually because the Knicks have subpar PG's.......just like they do again this year

The good part is imagining how quickly Frank could take over the starting spot...Frank, THJ, KP and Willy all starting for the majority of the season would be a really young core that's already logging big minutes and experience.

If I was Beasley, I would be saying the same thing, if asked. Glad to see he is a positive thinker and talker.

These proclamations rarely turn into reality though. It's a team sport.

I have always liked Beasley's game though. It's just that the NBA game is about more than just talent.

I just want everyone to stay train, be healthy, and avoid injury - Then see what happens.

No expectations. Just try to ball out. Lottery or Playoffs. I'm numb.

Yeah, not me. I've been trying to warn guys for SEASONS now, about this team's lack of talent.

At least the talent we do have is young, now.

I'm a little worried people are overrating how good Hernangoatmez can be, because he has some physical limitations that set a ceiling for him... but yeah - this is a solid young core. And if Dotson turns out to be a player (he looked like he had NBA tools this summer) all the better.

If you are a Knick fan, and you want to enjoy the season - you should start of understanding they're not a playoff team - take heart watching young guys develop (giving somebody like Frank a long leash) - and then hope for a top 5 pick.

if melos gone this team isnt going to win much if they thrust frank out there to the wolves
i like hernangomez a lot...but his best position due to his physical limitations is center...........which is KPs best position cause of the mismatches he gives teams.
unless willy can figure out a way to increase his agility (unlikely as hell) i just dont see a future where willy and kp can start together.
not beyond this season.

I think Willy has quality starter potential but it comes down to his defense. His offense and rebounding are already pretty polished. The real issue I see with him is that KP is closer to a full time Center than I expected and one of the two would need to chase PF's around the perimeter to make that front court work long term. Willy's supposedly cutting weight and he does cover the rebounding side of things so KP wouldn't have to, but on defense they'll need to figure out a creative way to make both guys work together otherwise Willy is a quality bench piece. That said...his contract is so damned beautiful, one of the best moves of the PJax term is not just getting that pick but also the contract agreement afterward.

All that said, I know what you mean. The Marc Gasol comparisons only make sense in that Gasol was underestimated and not in the best shape. I don't think weight-loss will have such a pronounced impact on Willy, it happens with guys but not with such a massive impact. If there's anyone I'm eyeing for getting into better shape and becoming a better prospect, it's Caleb Swanigan whose game I'm massively partial toward.

Edit: P.S. I'm coming into this season the way I was looking at the second half of last season. Give the keys to the kids and let what happens happen. If they sink we pick a Doncic, Porter or Bagley and if they swim we've got a young core to enjoy. This is a year to enjoy how players develop and handle bigger roles moreso than anything else and I hope the majority of fans realize that.

I don't see how Hernangomez is overrated. His ceiling is Robin Lopez. Defensively he will be a lot better with a consistent starting role.

Lance Thomas, Noah, Baker and Sessions don't ever need to hit the floor.

Kuzminskas, Beasley, Porzingis, Hardaway and Frank might be my favourite lineup.

Nikkas need to stop overrating Willy, he can score and rebound

But i dont see his defense getting better, he has slow cac feet. Cacs move like they got cement in their shoes, he will be a target for other teams running the pick n roll anytime hes on the court

What's the deal with Lance Thomas?
Two seasons ago I remember him playing solid defense while making crucial stops on perimeter players that we would normally lose during a defensive switch.

I know last year he had injury issues. Has he gotten past that? And if so should we look to see a return to his prior year form.
