no they havent...SNES was better than anything out at the time..and anything that was better hardware wise was basically a gimmick that did horrible until the Playstation dropped...it's been a wrap for nintendo since then tho...

I don't think Nintendo changed their marketing, they just have lagged behind with the trends and by the time the Wii dropped they knew they could no longer compete with Sony or Microsoft head to head. The GameCube was depressing
It basically came down to the marketing. SNES had more colorful epic adventure type games and multiplayer games. Genesis had the grimey, gritty, adult games and possibly the greatest game-soundtracks ever in history

son..the Genesis was NOT superior to the SNES...Genesis can NEVER pull off the graphics and sound of Donkey Kong Country..NEVER in a million years...that shyt looked better than some Playstation games...

son...the variety of SNES games>>>Genesis...the quality of Snes games overall>>>Genesis...and that's real talk...there was a few games better on the Genesis than the Snes like Aladdin...but that was cause Genesis had the official Disney license and official artists to create it...plus Aladdin had a sword on the Genesis one...it was basically a completely different game from the ground up..The Lion King..different story..SNES>>>....but yea..Genesis had the first Mortal Kombat...but Snes learned from their mistake and crushed the buildings with MK2 with damn near a direct arcade port...Genesis COULD NOT pull that off...and let's not talk about the Street Fighter games...I had all the systems and I LOVED my Genesis and I had like a million games for both..but the quality was with the SNES overall..when it comes to graphics..sound...and games..Snes had the better selection..period...Genesis had a better CPU and a lil better rom in the lil systems but it couldnt help anything with it's small ass color palette of 512....vs Snes' 32,768.....

that game had pre-rendered 3D graphics. it was a revolutionary technique, but it had nothing to do with the snes hardware. it required a very advanced computer (for it's time) to render those frames
Comix Zone on Genesis was the most 
game to me of that gen. Too bad it was near the end.

I'm still torn all these years between the snes and genesis. That was the tightest console race ever...both consoles were basically neck and neck until 94.
Slight edge to the genesis for me. Sports games, comix zone, Sega Sages, Aladdin, real deal boxing and sonic 2 were important in my young life growing up.
The snes had crazy heat too. Mario world, street fighter, mortal kombat, lion king, metroid, Mario kart, and the donkey Kong games

son...or MAYBE it had to do with the TENS OF THOUSANDS of colors the super nintendo was able to produce vs the 512 colors of the Genesis...Snes had better sound as well...they were able to do more with music with Snes...only good thing about the Genesis sound is the voices were a lil more accurate than Snes...but when it came to sound and in game music and clarity...no contest...son I still play these games on both systems...
