So you basically admitting that you don't want the exposure to these devils and why they are devils. You are part of the lets sweep this history under the rugs. It's too emotional for you to cope so you want to bury it.

And THIS is why the white power structure STILL got us under control because of PASSIVE ASS SELLOUTS like you unwilling to pass down the truths of these bytches done on our people and why it is continued. How the fukk we can progress if we keep running away from our past and get SO ANGRY ABOUT IT that we collectively revolt against this racist system completely.

It's unfortunate that will never happen because of people like you refuse to push in these devils faces what they committed and still in denial of. I bet you are the bytch made that WON'T educate your own seeds because you aren't emotionally equipped.

This IS our story that MUST BE TOLD AGAIN AND AGAIN for each generation. Don't run from that shyt because you are uncomfortable with how these devils did us. And those films are FAR TOO LENIENT with everything that those devils did.

Word up! :salute:

What message aside from learning about African culture and tradition, passing it down to your children, never sellout your own identity, the importance of family, unity, and resilience, and the fact that BLACK OPPRESSION and the illusion of WHITE SUPREMACY that we deal with to this day is seeded in slavery as symbolically exposed in Roots.

Outside from that. Nahhhh there's no message.

That's not a message, you just randomly made statements. Roots is a fictional story, learning about African culture and tradition from a fictional story lmao.

This is the problem. The importance of family and unity lmao, you need to see black people enslaved to learn that lesson.

What is African tradition lmao, Africa is just what white people called the continent, you don't know what the tribes called their land because you watch roots lol

Resilience, lmao how about you tell the stories of real historical figures most black people don't know about it during that time period most people don't know about it.

You've yet to tell the plot as well

don't use your own words use what is shown on the screen to tell me.

You can't.

All about black folks being mistreated or entertaining.

All fictional non historic movies

If the new generation is relying on cacs in Hollywood to tell them their history, then they are doomed to never truly understand where they came from.
Most of our history in this country is working hard against the fact that white people in positions of power were trying to keep us from accomplishing things. We have done great things in this world and in this country but we had to fight to do them or get credit for them. You can't gloss over that fact if talking about our history.

I separated the historical films from the fictional stories on purpose. Fiction is used to show a persons or groups real world perspective all the time. These works of fiction are still representing us.

A lot of our people are lost. They don't know or care enough about their history to study it let alone teach it to their children. So if someone doesn't create a movie or TV show about it they'll have no idea in a few generations, especially with schools trying to whitewash history books.

Say bruh, it's really not a good idea to be a white person telling black people they need to watch or support slavery movies, even if your intentions are good

Son it's getting me weak :russ:
Watching @milobased argue with a crackhead white boy that says nikka about black history

Crackhead white boy even went stereotypical caveman talking about "you just want to be right I hate that shyt"

:dead:

There's plenty of stories to be told outside of race/racism in this country and abroad. Sure there's always been white supremacy to fight through, but that doesn't have to be the focal point.

Things have gotten a lot better in this space recently. Hopefully that trend continues

A lot of our people are lost. They don't know or care enough about their history to study it let alone teach it to their children. So if someone doesn't create a movie or TV show about it they'll have no idea in a few generations, especially with schools trying to whitewash history books.
Again, if the wrong people are teaching this story than it is of no help to the kids.

They are still "whitewashing" history in these slave movies.

The roots remake was trash.

I mostly saw white people with whips, black people getting beat, raped, black dudes c00ning to see who can make massa the most money, pleading massa please massa please, etc.

I don't think a roots remake was necessary. If they really wanted to show roots than they should've just played the reruns.

Nat Turner story should really be the last of this slavery stuff when it comes to movies/tv shows.

We don't need another django or roots.

There was a time when all of this was necessary, but now we got more than enough content of that. Plus some of these slavery films have no real redeeming quality to them. Just one big ass whooping fest lead by white people.:francis:

the act of slavery has no real redeeming quality. why did you expect the series about slavery to have it?

The people of the time had plenty of redeeming qualities. Watching these movies, seems all they did was cry, get beat, and drool all over the place.

Nat Turner's story is a slavery story that has a redeeming quality because even tho he gets mistreated, he revolts at the end.

Roots remake had hardly any content on actual African culture or actually standing on top of adversity. The series from beginning to end was demoralizing.:trash:

yeah of course our ancestors had plenty of amazing qualities. but the movies they make are usually just highlighting the act of slavery . they usually don't focus on the people in a real way.

been waiting for the Nat Turner one. Roots felt rushed. I haven't finished it yet. but it seems like they skimmed the book.

but I disagree with people like snoop saying that people shouldn't watch the movie. there are kids out there they have never heard of the book or the mini-series. this should be a invitiation for them to pick up a book.

The reason why the Jewish comparison doesn't work for me is that they get so many more opportunities to make flicks about other stuff.

This is where the frustration from Snoop comes from
Name three movies explicitly about Jews that isn't about the holocaust or one of their tragedies.
