Seeing all these mixed reviews, I haven’t had a chance to listen yet, but I will once I get to the gym later on this evening. I actually like that one track that’s on Madden

Listen to the instrumental version only and this shyt knocks. :manny:

The glaring issue is that a lot of the hooks are so mid.

Man, if only Nate was still alive. :mjcry:

THIS IS WHAT MFS DONT UNDERSTAND! The hate comes from the hooks sounding out of place for most but the IMPORTANT PARTS the RAPPING and the PRODUCTION are TOP TIER!! If they went with rap hooks for the most part they'd be calling this a CLASSIC. Hooks don't gotta be the end all be all to recognize how great of a project something is. That's the same reason why they went at Nas on IWW in the first place, cuz he implemented catchy hooks as oppose to scratches :russ:

Yeah, the beats and Snoop (rap features as well) were great.

Very surprising we didn’t get some Anderson Paak on this project to elevate the vocals on these hooks.

Snoop is using at least 4-7 writers per song and they are all conferring with AI

But yes, it's interesting to wonder how many times the non-songwriting portion of The Colo brethren need to listen to this before they may realize that it is the choruses

I mean brehhs no Dr. Dre fan ever wanted an intro like that to play through their speakers

Dre clearly doesn't care nor does he need to. I applaud him for living in his truth in moving away from what's expected of him

I guess if you vehemently hate this album, I wonder what you thought of Snoop's albums since like... Blue Carpet Treatment. I liked the Dam Funk one and most of BODR but the rest I couldn't even tell you...

Dre always brings the best rapping out of Snoop so there's that going for it. Production is generally clean but also too stiff, not all the ideas work and he doesn't let the best ones breathe...

Album wise I fukk with a few Snoop albums heavy. Doggystyle of course, Tha Last Meal, half of Top Dogg, most of Blue Carpet, BODR, maybe Paid the Cost...R&G was all over the place, the rest I don't remember lol

Reminds me of Big Bang, Oxnard and even Compton. They are technically good albums that don't suit the artists at all IMO :yeshrug:
