Actually I start the story out about snakes being killed on the property.

The first snake I mention in the story was found. By guys removing trees and tree stump removal when we just moved.
My relatives working the land.
told me about the grassroots tools at the start of this story.

I stay in the huff ass Stix now.
So it was mad vermin.
when I first moved.
Plus f it rains.
The appear all the time.

I have a point to these stories.
Just gearing up to tell the next one.

my old man always says "a snake will make you hurt yourself" and he ain't lying

when i was about 13 or 14 my 15 yr old next door neighbor shot himself in the leg with a .22 when my other neighbor's dog alerted us to a water moccasin in the grass behind the fence where we stayed. it was a helluva day, and in all the commotion and excitement the snake managed to survive 1 adult, 3 teens, and 3 guns. we, my neighbor, took the only casualty.

to this day i'm convinced that snake is somewhere right now still laughing like a muthafukka

When I was younger had to defend my brother against a couple of diamond backs, vipers, and a cotton mouth

Yeah went straight through, but down the leg. When he showed us one of the holes on his thigh it looked like the bullet had gone up his leg but that was the exit wound.

He was able to limp from where we were over to the curb and his old man picked him up and ruched him to the hospital.
