I dunno man I can see it. Had Jackson sprung. That whole Off the Wall album is about that ass.

She had je nais se quois. Smokey, Berry and fukking Gene Simmons were all about it. She looked like the type to get a guy addicted.

Sorta related but here's a lil story for yall.

In 1965, while on tour, the Beatles had the opportunity to meet the Supremes.

The band was excited. They considered the Supremes one of their biggest influences, one of their favorite groups, and wanted to learn more about Motowns production style.

When they met the Supremes, the Beatles were shocked and a little disenchanted with the group when they rejected their invitation to smoke Marijuana together. The group was frightened and uncomfortable with hanging out with the boys, overdressed and clean cut looking, didnt know how to answer any of their questions about the Motown sound, carried themselves far more seriously as entertainers than the Beatles even in private, and wanted to leave. It ended up being an unpleasant meeting.

George Harrison was quoted saying "We expected soulful, hip girls. We couldn’t believe that three black girls from Detroit could be so square!"

I just always that this was hilarious. If Diana was a freak it sure wasn't for those four fellas.

The guy is a journalist every bit as much as he is a celebrity gossip mill. He understands the art of the interview and the art of conversation. He got the guy to talk all about his entire childhood singing before we finally stumbled on the juicy bits. THATS interview skills. This motherfukker Vlad the Oprah Winfrey, Barbara Walter's of the black gossip game.

Yeah the Vlad haters gonna have to fall back. Maybe hes an opportunistic cac who found a lane in our culture, but you can't compare him to half these guys on radio and podcasts who just don't know how to be in touch with a guest, get them to talk on their life and views, and get a good interview. Just egging them on to promote themselves and brag about shyt we already know.
Vlad’s guests are paid to be there so they have more incentive to be open, give viral answers, etc. so they keep getting invited back for another check. It’s about as anti-journalistic as you can get.

Vlad looks as Wikipedia/IMDB/other information platforms on his laptop while he’s asking questions. He will literally go through a person’s online bio in chronological order.

“So you grew up in (insert city here) during the (insert decade here), what was that like?”

“I read you were arrested for (insert crime here), you mind talking about that?”

“There’s a story out there about (insert rumor the whole world has heard about), is there any truth to that?”

He’s a terrible interviewer because he injects himself into damn near everything, and has terrible transitions and segues. He has entertaining banter with guests he knows, but I have absolutely no interest in seeing him interview legends like Smokey Robinson.

There’s no doubt in my mind Smokey got at least $10k (low estimate) for this interview so he’s going to make sure it’s worthwhile. Basically $10k for 60-90 mins of his time and he loves to talk about himself anyway.

Art of Dialogue followed the same blueprint.. No Jumper, Akademiks, Vlad and corny muthafuggas like that are paying these guests out of that ad money. Keith Murray definitely getting paid from Art of Dialogue so you know Smokey getting paid

Her voice was nothing special. Woman was propped up because Berry Gordy was crazy about her. He all but came right out and said this in his autobiography. Had her in movies and everything. She couldn't 'not sing'. Her voice was just mediocre.

Let me put it this way. I'd put her voice on the level of Otis Williams in the Temptations. He can sing but he isn't David, Eddie or Paul.
Diana was the best singer out of her, Mary and Flo. If Diana was to be compared to anyone in the Tempts it would be David. Berry would tell Diana to limit her riffs and to sing in her baby voice because he felt it would make her distinct from the other female singers at Motown and other labels. Ain't nobody come to see Otis but everyone came to see Diana The Boss Ross
