Smokey just trying to stay employed :usure:

No. Smokey Robinson is worth $100 million dollars. You know how many American classic songs he wrote?

Smokey comes from that old selma way of thinking. We gotta leave the old heads behind to die sadly. They cant go to the promised land with us.

Look, I knew putting JLO in that position was not a good look. Just like there would be criticism if a black star was put in the same position to honor Selena. But you guys need to quit this "c00n" shyt and leave the old heads behind us talk. Black people of his generation went through the REAL struggle. They dealt with racism that you dudes have only seen on tv. Nyqqa they created the term "promised land". If you disagree with the JLO thing, which is honoring something he was a MAJOR factor in, then just disagree. Stop with the "you ain't militant enough" way of thinking, especially when your experiences DO NOT compare.

Growing up in Houston, Selena was real popular with Houstonians such as Beyoncé, it’s only right she sings a few Selena songs on Cinco de Mayo

lol trolling aside, thatd be dope esp cuz she already did a spanish track w shakira.

we need more POC to infiltrate all forms of media, so that way producers of these awards ceremonies arent just out of touch white ppl, and have a mix of more concious folk who are aware of the tone they put out in their product.

:dahell::snoop:. Dude, that's fukkin Smokey Robinson. WTF are you talking about "wanna be relevant"??? His status/legacy is unquestionable.
he has a legacy, but he was in obscurity before this Motown tribute shyt. It's 2019 and Smokey Robinson out here making IG live type videos. :what:And at the end of the day Smokey Robinson don't need to be taking bullets for J-Lo. Like I said, he can go back into obscurity.

There is nothing wrong with saying that anyone can listen to Motown. No one should be ridiculed for listening to music made by another race. But I do take issue with anyone saying it isn't black music. It was made by blacks period, specifically AA's. That should never be forgotten. A lot of racists love our music, but hate us.

But Smokey already knows this....

I'm forever thankful for what they went through but they are just a distraction now. We can't keep letting emotional nothingburgers be our judgement compass anymore. This is today, this is now and it's either move or get ran over.
