ATL, but rasied in DMV
Honestly the backlash wasn't because J Lo is Hispanic

It's because she's not a soulful artist

Replace J Lo with Amy Winehouse circa 2006 or Christina Agulara who who are cacs and nobody would complain because they know they would have brought that soul to the music and they weren't generic pop artist

Put any swagless/souless black artist up there and there'd be the same type of blacklist.

Overall it's got nada to do with her being Latina
TIna Marie would have represented better than all the other non-Black soulful artist. In fact, she was one of the few soulful artists period, who never crossed over

to an extent this is true.

Besides j. lo not being able to sing
she's not black
it's AA history month
the singers of the songs faced segregation, so for them to be whitewashed made people extra agitated
and for some segments her background dancers/singers were also non-black. i think Aguilera, Adele and Whinehouse would at least include black dancers/singers

These countries and regions still practice blackface.

n i was specifically talkin about POC here in the US. u dnt think black ppl here care enough to put forth ideas that wouldnt come off as tone deaf?
