This album is fantastic.

Smino's use of rhythm and melody is very reminiscent of Kendrick Lamar and further back Andre 3K, Nelly, & Bone Thugs N' Harmony.

He's a phenomenal songwriter who is keenly aware of who he is and it shines through in hilarious skits like the Krogers "Backwoods" skit.

I love the drum programming on No L's !!! Am I hear it wrong or is the drumming slightly swung ?
The straight 8th note Hi-Hats + Kick, Snare and open Hi-Hat is soooo classic Hip-Hop but the way it's
delivered here is :blessed:

kick, snare
kick, snare, kick (am I hearing that right ?)
kick, kick, kick snare

The bridge at 2:00 Minutes in with the introduction of the guitar doing those arpeggiated
chords + full blown/slid chords
The synthesizer
The Vocal Effects, that "Whoa, whoa, whoa!"
The distorted guitar solo !!!
So much is going on in that last minute but it's fukking GREAT.

The bridge as it contrasts against the first two minutes is fukking phenomenal.

Another song, I'm really digging is "Ole ass kendrick"

The melody sounds like a Perfect 4th and a Major 6th (I think ?)
The 8th note Hi-Hats are broken up by these dope as rolls which sound like 32nd notes(?)
The distorted 808 is dope

The triplet flow is :blessed:

I'll probably go deeper into trying to pick the records apart but the use of guitar on this album and his singing/crooning
mixing in with his rapping is fantastic.

Why is the OP dated in May 2021 and the album just dropped in Oct 2022?

:dwillhuh:

Did breh announce the album a year and a half before it came out?!
I'm not sure, can somebody expand on this? What's the story behind the delay of this album?
