OK if those werent good examples then answer this.....why is it that one minute Ross is on a song co signing Donald Trump but as soon as he shows his ass during the GOP debates its death to Trump?

Or how Russel Simmons refered to Trump as his 'nikka' but once Trump started showing his ass during the GOP debates Russel all of a sudden wont be supporting Trump?

If those lyrics arent good examples then why is it that now all of a sudden with Trump showing his ass there is backtracking amongst those in Hip Hop?? It was cool to co sign Trump before the GOP debates...why all of a sudden the change??

You're just going off in random tangents, I'm done here.

Sorry buddy.....I cant co sign...the only Black person I remember recently acknowledging 'founding fathers' like that is President Obama(because he has to for political reasons) and Ben Carson(which again is for political reasons). Most Black folks I know only like the faces of our 'founding fathers' on dollar bills. In the 80's there was a good amount of respect for Lincoln but as time has passed that respect has withered away.

Well you are fortunate, when I was living in the US, I came across quite a few black people who held the founding fathers in high esteem, the rest were mostly indifferent to them.

You're absolutely right. I just don't think it's necessarily fair to call out rappers back then for the vitriol he's spewing now[/QUOTE]

why not? Lets be honest...dude had a suspect relationship with Black folks prior to the GOP debates. In the 70's he had that situation where he was accused of not renting to Black folks. Even Snoop made a sideways joke at the Donald Trump roast about his reputation with renting to Blacks when he he said something to the likes of "It would make sense that Donald would want to be president...it wouldnt be the first time he kicked a Black family out of their home." Then there was the Central Park Jogger situation. All of this before the 90's even hit. This is why I brought up the whole rappers admiring mafioso figures thing because it looked off admiring racist Italians in the same breath it looked off seeing rappers name dropping Donald Trump all those years.

Work with me, I kinda worded it wrong...let me try this again.

You say the lines from rappers I posted are not good examples of tip riding.

Prior to the Central Park situation Trump had a reputation in the 70's for not renting to Black folks

Thats 2 strikes right there. Why would anyone who is consious name drop someone with that kind of rep?? It looks off.

But it also looks off when you have those affiliated with Hip Hop(Rick Ross/Russel Simmons) who were ok co signing Trump all of a sudden backpeddling away from Trump all after the fact now that he's showing his ass in the GOP debates.

It's called word play. He's got money and they rap about money because they have money. Most of them aren't even supporting him.

Theres only a handful of rappers and one black boxer that openly endorses Trump.

Rappers talking about wanting Trump type money is not d1ckriding.

Why not post actual interview quotes, instead of rap lines used to entertain..

A few things I always hated seeing from rappers: 1) The Italian Mafia adoration, especially after that table scene in The Godfather were the bosses agreed to sell dope only in the colored neighborhoods. 2) The justification of selling dope in ones own community. 3) And the decades of Donald Trump dik riding. In 1989 Donald Trump payed $85,000 to have full page ads in the 4 New York newspapers urging the mayor to bring the death penalty back to NYC...This was in response to the 5 Black teens who were later trialed and convicted only for years later to have their convictions vacated in the Central Park Jogger case. Before those teens were found innocent, the audacity of Donald Trump to even execute that type of demand towards Black teens was reason to look at Donald sideways. This was 1989 yet when looking for someone rich to admire rappers didnt look to Reginald Lewis or Mansa Musa....They went to Donald. And now in 2016 Trumps' campaign managers are using these rappers and their past dik riding to help promote him as a means of proving that he is admired for his wealth and the irony is that we all know Trump dont give a damn about any Black agenda but he'll use those who Black people admire within music to promote himself for the 2016 Presidential campaign.

"I just Donald Trump you."

Ect....

But the worst one of them all was this statement made by Russel Simmons just a few years ago:

Well, it might surprise you that his mentor is "The Donald," as in Donald Trump. But Simmons has a very strange way of showing Trump respect. In a recent print interview, he complimented "The Donald" by referring to him as his "nikka." "I read it in the newspapers, with an 'a' at the end. And I called him and I said, 'That's the worst thing anybody has ever said,'" recalls Trump. "'Why would you say a thing like that?' He couldn't understand what I was saying. He said, 'That's the greatest thing I could ever say about anybody.'"

:childplease::comeon::ohhh::martin::what::beli::pacspit::ufdup::dahell::mindblown::rudy::camby:

After Trump started showing his ass during the recent GOP debates all of a sudden, now you have the turn around.

"Free enterprise" by Rick Ross

“Assassinate Trump like I’m Zimmerman / Now accept these words as they came from Eminem.”

:martin:

Sorry Rick Ross but Trump been showed us his ass, so your attempt at a publicity stunt cant erase over 2 decades of Donald Dik riding within Hip Hop.

But it doesnt stop there. Russel Simmons is also now on the "not so pro Donald" bandwagon.

"stop the bulls---" and "stop fueling fires of hate." Don't feed into the rhetoric created by small-minded people. You're smarter and certainly more loving then you let on,"
Simmons says while he wishes Trump "good luck on (his) path toward the White House," he will be "campaigning rigorously against (him)."

:stopitslime:

But its too late..the die is already cast. Hip Hop for decades has openly shown its admiration for Trump in a way where now anyone who is anti Trump in Hip Hop will look like a minority. :snoop:

You earned that rep....i read through all of that. And it is very telling and troubling.

Because he was never spewing hate publically to the extent that he has since he decided to run for president and unless you actually looked into some of his fukked up practices with housing and such, most people had no idea.

He was just famous for being rich before.

:patrice:

This is what Trump paid 85Gs to have posted in the 4 major NYC papers in 89. He wanted to see those 5 Black teens executed. When the rumor mill hit that Troop gear was made by the KKK everyone in teh hood stopped fukking with it......This info on Trump was out there yet the rappers still promoted ya boy...There's no excuses.

trump21n-1-web.jpg

You saying that people didnt know about his history reminds me of cats who make excuses for why they hang out with snitches/rats, talking bout "well I didnt see any papers on him at the time and he dint snitch on me" Doesnt matter you hung out with a rat/snitch

Is a name drop not the same as product placement/endorsement??

a name drop stirs intrigue and interest. A name drop is a promotion.

We really gonna act like 2Pac didnt have cats in the hood wanting to know more about Niccolò Machiavelli??

No one gave a fukk about Machiavelli in the hood until the 2Pac name drop.

When Max B said Chrissy touched it in Miami...did we not become interested in what Chrissy actually looked like??

There was a time in the mid 90's when you couldnt get cats in the hood to pop ex. Fast Foward to this decade where "molly" is name dropped heavy by rappers and all of a sudden cats in the hood are popping molly.

A name drop is a promotion, usually done to stir interest.

if its not dik riding then why do all these rappers want specifically "trump" type money??

If a bunch of rappers are focused on just one specific rich person like that when there are other options, it's dikk riding(its no different from all the bandwagon dikk riding that is aimed at Lebrons direction when cats who arent even really into B Ball refer to when asked who is the best in the league this very second......Yeah Lebron is excellent but there are other players out there) Let Donalds nuts breath and pick another rich man to promote. Why do all the rappers have to hop on Donalds nuts?

why not Mansa Musa type money which was 1) way more and 2) was the true definition of "The Black dollar"

why not Reginald Lewis type money?? Again thats the Black dollar.

Why promote a man who paid 85Gs to push for the execution of Black teens??
