They dont know how to structure TV anymore. nikkas ain't gonna get tired after 2-3 hours unless you putting on a stinker. They keep having all of these high and low spots on Smackdown/RAW and it ain't doing shyt. You dont need to work the crowd on cable television :dahell:

I think AEW and NXT are doing good TV right now. Doesn't feel like I'm having to slug through shows, I'm not looking to my phone as much, and I'm enjoying good matches. :ehh:

Imo, I dont think the "Sports Entertainment" style works when the shyt just ain't entertaining. Most of these wrestlers and backstage personalities got scripts that either dont make sense, had to be redone for the 3rd, flat out corny, or doesn't come across as something an actual person would say. :camby:

Remember Seth's promo at HIAC when he was like "I hope I can beat The Fiend" or some shyt to that effect? That's your WWE UNIVERSAL champion. Yeah the title itself may be swagless with zero prestige, but they treat it as the end all be all and it usually means the whoever's holding it is supposed to be a top guy. What top guy in any other promotion or sport is gonna be afraid and say shyt like that? :camby: :scust:

It ain't Seth's fault because he just doing what he's told, but god damn. Making the top champion look like a GEEK is :snoop: . Doesn't help they kill the mystique of The Fiend's character by constantly adding Bray Wyatt after it. It wasn't long ago at all that chump was losing pretty much every match he had :patrice: . They ain't fooling little kids, and they definitely not fooling the adults.

Emotional? I don't give a fukk about ratings. You're a lame try hard troll who stans racist wrestlers and a racist writer and you have the nerve to call people marks, c00ns, and all other types of shyt. Grow up and get a fukking life. You take pride in being an internet troll. You're the biggest markkk on this board.
Lol you must be talking to Da_Queen

I totally disagree with dude on this one. AEW is doing exactly what they need to do. I hate stupid backstage segments and 15 min promos to address what could be said in a few minutes. They are giving matches that make sense and are slowly building to their big PPV matches.

AEW looks and feels different from the overly produced stale format of the E's 2 big shows.
A lot of promotions need to look at what NWA is doing with their promo's right now. They are short and effective and never feel like they waste your time and it's all because they went back to the basics. Sometimes the basics is all you need.

So Bischoff was fired for the massive decline of week 2 and many stated he was positioned to be the fall guy for when shyt hits the fan.

But shyt just hit the fan again, so they firing Pritchard now?

I keep hearing the last few NWA shows were pretty good. I haven't watched them or MLW yet.

Breh it's getting to the point where my homies who were die hard WWE heads, quit that shyt cold turkey in favor of AEW.

This is some scary shyt and the fact remains that WWE don't give a shyt:mjlol:. They will keep putting out basura for folks to bytch every Monday, Friday, and one Sunday. Meanwhile, real heads will see the light and watch the alternatives:wow:.

:wow:Man, you know you got something special when I popped for fukking Mr Kennedy in 2019. That's all you need to succeed in wrestling that most companies are failing to do. Take Lucha Underground (RIP), that show was something special because it embraced the carny. No sports shyt or this outdated indy kickpad bullshyt, it felt like what wrestling used to be before the lame sports theatrics. Hell, look at CHIKARA, the company been around for a minute and got die hard neckbeards because of the non serious approach. This is what wrestling needs to do in order to survive, embrace the inner carny. WWE had a spark with The Fiend and just like that shat on it along with Bray's career:aicmon:. Hell, even NXT is losing steam because the whole "serious" approach is getting boring. The fact remains that wrestling is a NICHE product which Vince is afraid of (hence why he's pushing hard for XFL) and basically throwing shyt out to the masses to eat. The problem is that Fox not playing that shyt or worse. They are in a big pickle that could end up getting Smackdown bushed if there's no promise in the shytty product. Dire times for the E brehs...

I don't think the real sports/serious feel is outdated or boring, I think it's just been approached all wrong for pretty much everyone except for NJPW. AEW is too early to tell, but WWE has been trying to do it in spurts but still want to do outlandish bullshyt which counteracts it completely.

you can't take wrestling seriously. We know it's fake nowadays.

You can only take the escapism seriously.

WWE fails at making the audience take the escapism seriously.

And vince is so addicted to being "right", that whenever something he took part in is successful he runs it into the ground in quick fashion.

If something in the E is successful and it isn't cause of vince, he goes out of his way to destroy it.

Even with NJPW, there's elements of fun shyt to a more so serious promotion. For instance, Fantastica Mania feels like a event where wrestlers just cut loose in favor of the Lucha style. Even elements like Yano trolling through the G1 and other random shyt helps add a balance to the more serious NJPW sportslike style. WWE on the other hand, doesn't get how to properly do a show without pissing off the fans. It's not that hard for wrestling to be fun and at the same time be serious. Look at DDT. They damn near have walking dikks fighting, but the main events look close to NJPW Meltz 5 star caliber. It's very easy to have a balance :francis:

Heavy carny fukkery only works in short term bursts. It's always followed by a crash. The core, sustainable audience wants mostly serious, or at least not insulting wrassles. This is pretty much universal across all promotions/styles/countries/eras. Using Chikara as an example of anything positive:mjlol: It's such a small scale operation.

Oh okay that's what you meant. I thought you meant the serious approach as in the interview style, how matches are presented, etc. Even then, yeah NJPW is doing shyt the right way. Doesn't help WWE that their supposedly funny seconds are CDQ in terms of actual reaction. :francis:

I disagree.

I feel like one of the only things aew is doing right is not exposing the talent.

Young bucks not on every week.
Omega not on every week
Joey janela never on lol
Mjf not on every week.

Makes people want to see these guys more
That's dumb logic.

If you have a Rock, Austin, Goldberg you put them on tv every week. You put them on tv so fans at home can be engaged, interested in their characters....this causes fans at home to want to attend live shows. Nobody wants to attend a WWE attitude era show with no Stone Cold, or maybe he'll be here maybe he wont situation

It's just simple. And that's not sayin they even have to wrestle. Ppl/fans just want to be in the same building live as their fav wrestlers

That logic worked 20 years ago, but things have changed.

The era you are talking about is before youtube and DVR, when we had to wait each week to see someone. We don't have to do that anymore. I can watch every Rock, Austin and Goldberg moment and match right now if I want.

Appearances need to be spread out so they seem special.
