Great work.

I was really overweight two years ago and hit a point where I was sick of being out of shape. At my heaviest I was 268 pounds on the dot at 6 foot 1 and would have heart palpitations just sitting around watching TV like a slob. I had worked out years ago but stopped and gained a lot of weight so while I was heavy I still had a lot of mass, this was me at 252lbs -

Not sucking in my gut or flexing. I've been cutting weight since that pic and am 230 to 235 pounds. I dont have many pics of myself from when I was in the 260+ pound range since I was allergic to cameras.

If you thought starting at 260 was bad...Imagine starting from 400. As of yesterday I was down to 268 coming up on 9 months. Luckily for me, I don't have the extra skin just drooping off of me because I stayed lifting during this diet.

Jesus christ.....

Breh how did you get that big......

Props on the current weight loss btw.....

I was a lineman my whole life playing football. So after I had to stop playing in college(D3) because of an ankle problem I just fell into a 3yr rut. When I was playing, I was those fat athletic dudes that could run around but I just completely stopped and gained 80lbs after getting my own apartment and just eating whatever the fukk. My sisters wedding came around last year and I looked a damn mess(wearing size 52 dress pants and 5x dress shirt) and after seeing the pictures, I knew something had to change and here we are today. I can now fit both legs into one of those dress pants legs...And I'm still 60lbs from my goal(about 200lbs)

I will never fall back into that rut because I've seen the bottom. And any sane person would never wanna see that again.

And I hate calling it a "diet" because it makes it seem like it'll end. For me it'll never end. I know too much now about what my body needs and I can't stop working out now...My mind won't let me.

Cool story breh(no sarcasm). I'm just trying to understand metabolism and what social factors as well as chemical reactions contribute to weight gain.

Feel free to post anytime in the gym, it's a great support group....

Are you still strength training? Or more on the anaerobic side.....

What's your max squat,DL & clean....

That's how you gotta be though. Getting in shape won't truly work until you see it as a complete lifestyle change. I can throw up various studies that show Americans can lose weight, but maintaining that weight, has proven to be an even bigger problem. My philosophy revolves around making a complete lifestyle change, only then will an individual, truly be able to ripe the benefits of being fit / healthy...

Well, depression from not being able to play football again was the first major factor. Then getting an apartment didn't help, as that moved me way off campus, so instead of jumping out the dorm to workout...I jumped in the car to hit up Wendys, Checkers, Taco Bell, MCD's, Burger King, Gaetanos, Arbys, Hungry Man dinners, etc., I did it all bruh. 2-3x a day I ate this shyt. At the time I looked at it as relaxation, but it was anything but that, looking back.

And I've stopped strength training for now and just do pushups, situps along with playing basketball almost everyday. If I'm not playing ball, I'm running sprints(anaerobic) doing hills or on a track. But those days are maybe a handful of days a month, at most. I'll pick back up on gaining strength when I reach 190-200 and build about 10-15lbs of muscle over a year.
