I think I've said this before on here but low key Skyzoo has one of the best catalogs in the last 10 years. It's a shame he's so slept on. He consistently puts out projects and they all have gems on them.

I gave this a quick listen and i like the vibe. I need to keep listening but so far the song with Jada sounds like the standout track.

It starts off very good, then tails off after the 1st half IMO.

I think besides Money Makes Us Happy (instant classic song to me) and a couple tracks here or there, I prefer A Dream Deferred.

He really does. The Salvation is one of the most underrated albums of the late 00's. Cloud 9 and Live from the Tape Deck are great EPs. Dream Deferred and Music For My Friends are both awesome albums. Great Debater was a great tape. Barrel Bros was pretty dope. Damn. Skyzoo has a much deeper catalog than I realized. I'm not even counting all those old DJ Absolut mixtapes, and he also has an unreleased album with 9th Wonder and Khrysis from '05.

I never heard Ode to Reasonable Doubt. Is it worth checking? I've heard different things.

Ode to Reasonable Doubt is okay, not his best work but I liked a couple of joints on it. Definitely worth a listen since you're a fan.

I just redownloaded the penny series freestyles and the band practice stuff from a few years ago. He has a ton of material.

I did hear it. Some of it came out over time. Skyzoo had a little weekly series where he dropped most if not all of it, I think on HipHopDX a few years ago? These are all various joints on youtube that were on there. There was a good 4-5 9th Wonder beats on there and 8-9 Khrysis beats. A couple from Illmind and 1 from Fatin.

it had different lyrics and no live singing and added live instruments, but

I'll see if more songs from it are online. My favorite one was this joint with Chaundon that Khrysis produced that was almost like Life's a bytch. It was sort of meant to be a nod to it and they reference it. Real smooth beat and they both kinda went off Nas and AZ's verses.

Check this link: http://www.xclusiveszone.net/2008/10/skyzoo-turn-it-up/

He references the joints here

"So we’re at #13 in the series, and for this one I present to you “Turn It Up-2005″, produced by Khrysis. In some of the archives i’ve released in the past few weeks, i’ve made references to a trip that I took to NC in 2005 when I first met the Justus League (ie: Little Brother, Chaundon, 9th Wonder, Khrysis, etc). In that trip, I did a ton of joints with them and this is the first song from that trip. Khrysis played me this beat in his car when he picked me up from the airport and I claimed it immedietly. To this day this is one of my favorite Khrysis beats, and this was the first joint we knocked out, with 14 more following up later that week. Some people may have heard this on “The City’s Favorite”, which is the mixtape that I premiered this on in 2005, while others may not have heard it at all. With that being said, you all get to peep it now. So here it is, “Turn It Up-2005″, produced by Khrysis. PS: i’m about 70% done with “The Salvation”, and the mixtape “The Power Of Words” is starting to grow as well. Get ready…"

I've been a huge Skyzoo fan since that Hall of Justus mixtape/album, so props for the info. I had/have most of those songs you posted.

I do also understand where some people say his rhymes are unnecessarily complex, but I've taken that to be more his "style" than something he does on purpose, like Lupe, who I feel is complex and daedalian just to show off.

He also has a pretty good ear for production. I've always secretly wanted Hov to pay attention to dude, because clearly he's a fan, and he could do with the look.

Sky & Oddisee are both infinitely too good to be only known online and in some European countries.
