does anyone actually understand Skyzoo's raps i know i don't
never did and i used to actually listen to him
People won't admit that breh. I'm a fan too. He writes in such an abstract way, plus he's using new York slang and talking about things very relative to the new York experience. If you're not from there, all you can do is nod your head to it. Like I said, I'm a fan but I also think he's too rappity rap for mainstream. Great artist either way.

Stapletown..Shaolin
It all depends...i grew up bumping hip hop u paid attentiin to lyrics to...some younger cats may not have grown up in that era but they can appriciate it and have tuned their ears to pick up on those lyrics...

I remeber treach had a line back in the day for ppl how didnt listen to hip hop...he said something like "u say im rapping too fast i say ur not listening close enough" im sure i buthured that line but i find it funny that a line once ment to diss ppl who didnt listen to hip hop but try and put it down....can bow apply to opl who call themselves hip hop fans...smh...

At first it wasn't like that. When he first came down to NC he did an album in a few days with 9th Wonder, Khrysis, and Illmind on production. Then he did that Cloud 9 thing with 9th Wonder. Around The Salvation and Live From the Tape Deck IMO is when his lyrics really started getting super coded and harder to follow. I have a hard time understanding a lot of what he means now, and The Salvation took me a lot of listens to pick up on most of it.

Here are some older more straightforward joints of his (about 10 years ago) for reference:
