Flat out, anybody that is a Kobe fan that agreed with Skip Bayless is a hypocrite.

Kobe had a losing record without Shaq from 1999-2004....does that mean he was never a top 3 player in the NBA during that time period? According to Skip's logic, no he wasnt, but yet we argue that Kobe WAS indeed a top 3 player during that time:ufdup:

Cant be on both sides of the fence:manny:

BIG DIFFERENCE between the two circumstances. The 99-04 Lakers were built around Shaq NOT Kobe. This thunder team is built around Durant. Plus those Lakers teams were not very deep. It was basically a bunch of scrubs with the two best players in the league. This thunder team is STACKED. They go 8 deep. They have athletes everywhere. Durant should not be losing at home to the Nets and then getting blown out by the Jazz on the road. That is unacceptable.

KD is the second best player and from a production standpoint, he is pretty damn productive from a historical perspective, but he is underwhelming in two areas that the last two great wings (KB24 and LBJ) were great in : post-up play and the ability to be a devastating facilitator (he is making strides but still not close). He just isn't as portable as other historically great wings and he lacks that fire, similar to LBJ in that regard. KIDS THIS IS WHY PORTABILITY, VERSATILITY AND EFFICIENCY MUST ALL BE WEIGHED EQUALLY.

this

I think the fantasy football generation is blinded just by numbers and don't actually care too much about whether those are impact numbers. Production wise Durant this year is the #1 player in the league. I believe even under Hollingers stupid PER system he's ahead of LeBron.

However, it would be asinine for anyone who has watched any basketball to think that. Basketball is about more than stuffing the box score. Kevin Love stuffs the box score and he not widely regarded as an impact player. To me impact play is more important than the ability to put up pretty stats.

You can't consistently choke in 4th quarters when your team needs you and be considered the 2nd best in the league. You just can't.

You said Jackson is a backup PG, yet KD is supposed to win with a backup? The Thunder start 2 net negative players in Perkins and Thabo, and Jackson is a backup in your own words. One of their recent losses came without Serge, so what's he supposed to do?

You truly are a terrible poster breh, it's not shocking that you and Skip share opinions.

I don't except them without Russ to be the best team in the West. I do however expect them to not lose games they should win. They had a double digit 4th quarter lead in 2 consecutive home games against the Blazers and Nets and lost both. In both games, Kevin Durant went ghost in the 4th after being a beast in the first 3. I don't have a problem with stars having bad games or missing shots down the stretch. I have a problem with them just sitting back and letting others do it. Durant has been playing like that. He's content with Reggie Jackson playing like he's Russ and taking big shots down the stretch when those should be his.

And don't get me started on getting blown out by the Jazz in Utah. :snoop: Even without Serge or Russ that is a game Durant should win by himself. The fukkin Kobe-less Lakers almost beat the Jazz in Utah. Losing to horrible teams like that is inexcusable.

fukk outta here. Melo cant even lead a team in the bum ass eastern conference. But he's supposed to weather what the west throw at team every night. :camby:

He brings no intangibles that KD doesnt. At best he would be putting up the numbers KD does now. shyts a wash at best
:why:Hey fakkit, u do remember that melo played in the western conference with basically no one carried that team year in and year out. Got the nuggets to the offs by himself after being a lottery team out west

Anyway, anyone who list harden in their top anything doesn't deserve to be listened to.

And I knew @The War Report would be in here caping hard for his boy:laff:

IMMIGRANT TETHERS
I watch First Take EVERYDAY. I've come to the point of predicting almost everything they say on certain topics cause they repeat themselves so much. And NO Skip didn't turn on Durant cause he called him out. He turned on him after last years playoff series against the Grizz. Durant dissed in almost over a year before that. During that intervening year he was still called Russ an anvil around KD's neck.
breh....I know what I saw and Skip was throwing shades at him long before the Grizz series. Of course he was still going to get a Russ but he was planting seeds a year before that.

The 2005, 2006, 2007 Lakers were all built around Kobe as well.......121-125 .492 record even though Kobe averaged 31.8 ppg over those 3 seasons.

Was he not a top 3 player in the NBA at that time period?:mjpls:

My point I'm making is that the Thunder are NOT built around Kevin Durant by himself. They are built around them having BOTH Durant and Westbrook healthy and on the court at the same time. To blame Durant, or say he's not a top 3 player in the NBA, is ridiculous and actually hurts your credibility.....because anyone with eyes can see that Durant is at WORST the 2nd best player in the NBA.

He played in the bum ass East :camby: He wouldn't have made out of the 1st round in The West.

this cannot be understated

LeBron's success while in Cleveland was greatly helped by how terrible the East was while Melo's failure in the West was great hurt by how stacked the West was. Melo was consistently winning 50 games and getting the 7th seed out West having to play teams like the Spurs while Bron was having the same record and being the 4th seed out East playing against the Wizards. It shouldn't surprise anyone that the Nuggets kept losing in the first round and the Cavs would always advance.

My mans skip was right about Lebron till Lebron learned to be clutch.

Durant is not a closer in 4th quarters.

Putting up high numbers when you can close when it matters is useless

Hey fakkit, you do remember my post was responding to a post saying KD would have the knicks worst off than what melo is doing now and melo would have the thunder better. What the fukk is melo doing on the knicks that KD couldn't do :wtf:

And those nuggets team had talent

Are you really gonna compare those rosters to what Durant has on the Thunder right now? :comeon:

Kobe leading a team with starters like Smush, Kwame, and Luke Walton to the playoffs shoulda gotten him a nobel peace prize or something let alone title of best in the league. what he did was miracle work.
