There's no myth for me to create. I'm not even a Durant fan and I actually don't mind Skip.

I watch First Take EVERYDAY. I've come to the point of predicting almost everything they say on certain topics cause they repeat themselves so much. And NO Skip didn't turn on Durant cause he called him out. He turned on him after last years playoff series against the Grizz. Durant dissed in almost over a year before that. During that intervening year he was still called Russ an anvil around KD's neck.

watch the games. you fantasy football clowns have ruined all sports discussion with their obsession with box scores and never watching the games. the Thunder have choked away several 4th quarter leads the past couple of weeks since Russ went down with KD disappearing when his team needs him most. A lot of those losses also came to bad teams in OKC. That is unacceptable for the "2nd best player in the league."

That's because KD has to do damn near everything, he's winded when the 4th rolls around. You in here talking about how "deep" the Thunder are, that depth is heavily reliant on their 2nd best player being there. You said Thabo is "d'ing" people up, no he's not, his defense is vastly overrated and what he gives you on offense doesn't make up for it. He's almost always on the losing end when it comes to who had the better game at SG, nevermind the fact they have Perkins in their starting 5, you're looking at 2 players that can't get any type of offense in their starting lineup.

It's funny you're in here trying to discredit KD for the same things you turned a blind eye to from your "gawd" which is losing close games to better teams. Anyone saying the Thunder are the 2nd deepest team in the league WITHOUT Russ is a moron.

the Knicks have a much worse supporting cast around Melo than OKC has around Durant

put Durant in NY and the Knicks still suck.....put Melo on the Thunder and I think he helps them weather this period without Russ better than Durant

Kobe had a losing record without Shaq from 1999-2004....does that mean he was never a top 3 player in the NBA during that time period? According to Skip's logic, no he wasnt, but yet we argue that Kobe WAS indeed a top 3 player during that time

its the ability to play dominate basketball for 4 quarters with the entire defense focused on you all game that makes someone a superstar and on the level of a top 2-3 player.

KD is the second best player and from a production standpoint, he is pretty damn productive from a historical perspective, but he is underwhelming in two areas that the last two great wings (KB24 and LBJ) were great in : post-up play and the ability to be a devastating facilitator (he is making strides but still not close). He just isn't as portable as other historically great wings and he lacks that fire, similar to LBJ in that regard. KIDS THIS IS WHY PORTABILITY, VERSATILITY AND EFFICIENCY MUST ALL BE WEIGHED EQUALLY.

That's on Melo, he wanted to go to the Knicks, instead of waiting and going as a free agent, he pushed that trade to go to the Knicks and they had to trade a lot of that team away for him.

You switch him and KD, and both teams will play exactly how they are now.

You said Jackson is a backup PG, yet KD is supposed to win with a backup? The Thunder start 2 net negative players in Perkins and Thabo, and Jackson is a backup in your own words. One of their recent losses came without Serge, so what's he supposed to do?

not in the 4th. he's been consistently choking there (other than for the game against the T-Wolves)

and being a Lakers fan, I saw kobe shoot us out of many games in the 4th BUT I never saw him go ghost as many times as Durant does. Durant is out there letting Reggie Jackson run the show during the 4th quarters of close games.

U think Kobe would stand aside and let Reggie Jackson run isos from the top of the key in the 4th quarter after the other team made a run? hell no. kobe would be demanding the ball and telling the rest of them nikkas to get the fukk outta the way. one way or the other we're either gonna win or lose on his terms not someone else.

Durant doesn't have that mentality. He's got a beta male mentality. Its the reason Russ always took more shots and was the emotional leader of the team. He's the one with the mamba mindset NOT Durant.
