It ain't the worst idea. Also, it allows the team to make more gambles in free agency knowing if it doesn't work, they can attach picks to get rid of them (or in this case, Al Horford is their new Chris Paul; if he rebuilds his value to someone, maybe they can flip him for a pick).
They're gonna be the most interesting case study of this decade.
And I said this when the Paul trade happened: I don't think you can fully write them off yet for the 8th seed. Same way we thought they'd suck last year, that could change with a quick start and less games on the schedule and they got plenty of vets for all the youngins they're bringing in.

What superstar is signing in FA to OKC? They have to grow their own then supplement with trades(which the picks help with). It's the only option for teams that aren't a FA hotbed.

Horford isn’t washed though I don’t believe. It was just a terrible fit in Philly and that makes a difference in that Philly didn’t have to give up too much to move him. Kevin Love is a different story as he’s too injury prone to make a good contribution to a team. That means Cleveland will have to give up more to move him.

Find the team with just as bad as contract or desperate to take said player.. Minny actually got off lightly as GS should have asked for an extra first out of the deal. No contract is unmovable, but sometimes the asking price is too high to do so (Love).
I really like this move for both teams...This is a very good basketball move for the 76ers. I'm assuming this has a trade exception that comes with it also. Now the 76ers may be able to go ahead and try to get a buddy hield.
