Yeah, I don't understand why dudes are saying GS should've called a timeout - you let that possession play out - you don't give Houston time to set their defense and work out who to guard. The time to strike is when there's a full floor and the defense is scattered.

I almost always agree with this strategy, but Golden State's offensive execution was such a mess in the 4th, that a timeout was warranted there. Just look at what they got with .5 seconds left after the timeout. Their focus was in outer space tonight in the 4th. They just went brain dead.

Their offense was a mess for the entire game - not just down the stretch/in the 4th. Hell, Kerr called a timeout in the 1st quarter after they literally just came out of a timeout, because Draymond wasn't paying attention when Curry passed him the ball. Can't make basic mistakes like that. That right thing to do was let them play it out when the Rockets were scattered and fatigued. Durant has been in the situation before, he knows what to do - all of them do. They don't need to be coddled and have a play drawn up for them. I could hear Kerr over the broadcast in the 4th telling them to move the ball, but they'd dribble out the shotclock and force a shot in ISO.

It was bewildering.

It shouldn't have even come down to that possession though, they had multiple opportunities all throughout the game to win. Both teams did their best to piss that game away.

It was a horrendous game to watch.
