It still makes a fukkload of money and although it's not as fresh as it once was, there are still plenty of funny moments.
Its obviously making money but the show stinks now and has stunk for at least 10 years. At least. I know some people on this forum would say it's been bad since 2000 if not earlier. I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt.

:yeshrug:I still enjoy it and obviously plenty of people do. If you haven't watched it the last decade and that's your opinion, then it's pretty much based on perception and not actuality.:francis:

I've watched it off and on over the past decade but after 5 mins of an episoddu can tell how far down the drain it's gone. The writing and plots are just pretty bad. The genius of the show was the writing and that has been gone for a long time. Maybe u didn't watch it in the earlier years, if not then I can understand why u still watch it today.

I've watched it since its inception and I still watch it breh. im just a huge fan. And I'll be the first to admit it's not what it used to be but again it's my comfort food and will always work for me on some level because I love the characters and I've grown up with the show.

Nah I watched the early years. I grew up on the Simpsons and Married with Children. It was better then no doubt, but there are still deep jokes.

It's all about the writers and you're right, for a while there it sucked. They made every episode about Homer's wild exploits and they tried to find a way to get as many cameos in as possible. I want to say that was around '05-'09.

That stage has passed and it's gotten a lot better.

I grew up with it too but I can't force myself to watch sub standard programming. I felt bad when I knew the show went to shyt. I can't even make it through a whole episode anymore. :mjcry:

I think they just need new writers for real for real but I'm always going to think that. New characters might help too but you don't want to pull an actual Poochie. They need writers who get what made the show work so well and get back to actual satire not what they do now mostly. The problem with the show is that its too inconsistent now; a great writing staff, relatively small, would accomplish that.

A Simpsons 2 movie would bring back some lost viewers. This season has been okay. Nothing special. I find myself starting episodes and then loosing interest halfway through. They will never get writers as good as the ones that wrote the first 10 seasons. Ever. Period. All the great stories about Springfield have been done.

Family Guy on the other hand, makes me laugh every week. I know a lot of people hate that show, but it's much funnier than Simpsons at this point.
