short cartoons that don't have much talking is different to a 20 min show these days. i guess they could get a bunch of people who can mimic the voices but that probably means more money to pay and having to find the people. they're not just gonna hire some bum off the street who thinks he can do Ned Flanders voice well. they're going to have to drastically change the characters, wait until they find people who can do the voices well enough or just bring in a bunch of new characters and hope people don't miss Ned Flanders etc too much

They can find people to mimic the voices they have the funds and incentive heck homers voice changed from early years to the mid years not sure if it was the same Actor fine tuning the character or new actor

think it's always been the same guy. Same can be said for all the main family

That may be rough, but I personally find the recent simpsons stuff not bad at all and pretty funny. I think people just signed on to the group think that it sucks and are not open to changing there mind. Yeah the first 10 seasons was good then it hit a rough patch for like 8 seasons or so ..but the recent stuff after everybody started talking about how bad it has been is hyperbole.

Heard about this, this morning… crazy shyt.

While thry could replace him, as far as I know the Simpsons is one of the few shows that don't replace actors.

If they did, we would still have lionel hutz, troy mcclure, krabapple etc.

One thing is retiring characters out of respect if his of her voice actor dies. But here he just quit. They can replace him if they want. (If this was Hank Azaria, that would be a HUGE hit, tho)

Show's end is overdue, though. I still watch out of habit, but nothing stands out today.

I do :whoknows: it's my favorite show of all time so I'm going to continue to watch it just out of habit.

Anyway, shyt is bugged out that this happened but in no way is the show going to end because of it. When the voice actors went on strike a few years ago, they found people to imitate them and I barely noticed a difference for real. It sucks that he's gone but they'll find someone who can imitate what he did and the show will continue. Maybe fox doesn't bring it back 2 years from now? But if show continues to get good ratings and make so much money in merchandising, and make so much for FXX, I feel like it'll just keep going. If he died, they'd retire his characters which would be a huge blow to the show but quitting? CM Punk said it best, just a spoke in the wheel
