They ended the character at the right time because I didn't like where they were headed with him. He started acting like a typical WWE heel; lying, cheating and throwing his ally under the bus. Originally Hassan had a moral high ground to stand on and THAT is what pissed people off so much. Americans hate to look in the mirror and say, "Hey, maybe I AM doing something wrong here," and he forced them against that mirror than threw them into it and shattered it. Hassan was a groundbreaking character and we need a black Muhammad Hassan right now. The type of heat an articulate, well educated black man would get pointing out the hypocrisy and stupidity of the American system would just be MUAH :ohlawd:

The early version of the Hassan gimmick was one of the smartest gimmicks in wrestling history, in my opinion. The character was 110% right regarding what he said about the prejudices of America against Muslim-Americans and was able to get massive heat for it (and, in a very disconcerting way, predicted some of the rationales for terrorist attacks that we've seen since). If they would kept playing the gimmick like that, it would have been amazing to watch.

Of course, WWE being WWE, they had to go down the LCD terrorist route. :snoop:

If they continued with that character he really have went down as one of THE most hated wrestlers of our generation. He probably would have gotten death threats, but my God, that would have generated so much money for Cokeboy :wow:

It was a good rationale for them ending the character and getting rid of Hassan altogether. Again, notice that he wasn't repackaged or even considered for a move to Raw. THAT'S what I mean when I say that his "career was killed."

To put it simply, the bombings signaled the end of the character, but the incident with Eddie and the rest of the locker room killed Hassan's career itself, if that makes sense.

We love you Muhammad. :to:

If they did do that, they would make him a bytchy, coward heel who "plays the race card" because this company is stil run by cac republicans at the end of the day.

Imagine the "still real to me, damnit" gang reacting to seeing him in airports. :banderas:
