This is stupid on so many levels... how do u know which one of "them" people lost their family. U could be looking @ an African like he sold u when in fact he probably had family stolen from him.

Furthermore Africans encounter a lot of hatred from other blacks when coming over here... I've had AA's and Caribbean black people hate on me simply because I was African. I don't then turn around and hate on them too, that just perpetuates the cycle of hate. There's c00ns on both sides, misguided fools full of mistrust because of lack of knowledge.

Its so sad and stupid to sit here talking about it would have been war if they did that to other people.... look @ the hoods today, its still brothers against brothers. Most of these people didnf consider the ones they sold their own, majority were prisoners of war destined for death (something u should know already) But keep pointing fingers like AA's are all one happy family Money talked then and it still does now.

Even my one of my best friend parents didnt like me until after a year of being around... and the fact i saved their son from a ass whopping didnt make them like me any faster.

In my experiences I've never witnessed any real hate torward Africans from black people. I've seen some get made fun of for their accent, or social awkwardness but I've never seen heard anybody say they hate Africans for any reason.

On the other hand i have come across a bunch of Africans that think all black folks are lazy nikkas. I've witnessed African women talking about how they would never date a black guy.

With all that said I'm all about unity, I think we should all stand together and quit this divisiveness, at the end of the day we're all in the same boat.

Yeah..I don't want to pigeonhold Nigerians cause I truly don't know any personally like that but I've hada negative experience with a whitewashed Nigerian sister myself in college....It all occured when I walked into the tutoring lab to study for an upcoming Algebra test...Being pro black I asked the 1st African looking brother in their was he a tutor..When he said no I stepped to some black sister sitting with a whiteboy....Immediately she cops in attitude and says she want help me and tells the whiteboy to do it...I'm like what the hell wrong with this bish but sense it didn't make a difference I started studying with the whiteboy until he said he had to leave for class 15 or so minutes in and asked her to the Nigerian chick to take over for him..Reluctantly she agreed...While over going the course work I noticed she had an accent which I thought may have been Carribean...Being curious I asked about her background and pointed out her foreign accen't...She revealed she was Nigerian and that I sounded country...So to lighten a sort of tense mood I asked what yall do back in the Motherland for a living heard goats? Angrily she accused me of looking like a drug dealer and shortly their after left..I don't know whether this sister had past negative experiences with AAs or just took on the views of us of the cacs she hung with but all the hostility was uncalled for...I'm a Pan Africanist brother whom was only trying to connect with a sister from the Motherland and learn about the ancestral orign of my ancestors...I was more amused than offended though..And this is not to bash Africans cause I met African brother from Ghana that showed love though I saw him haning with whiteboys and A beck too that semester and met met a couple of AA oreo bytches at the same school whom were tried to stereotype me too.

well here in North America, I have to disagree with u.

AAs, don't accept Black-Africans and we have to fight for social acceptance a lot of the times. Whiles CACs who are "down" and latinos from the hood are more accepted as "brothers" then we are...which is messed up.

Africans and African descendants are the only people walking this Earth's surface who are forced to carry the cross for their oppression. There were Indians who cooperated with Spanish conquistadors to topple ancient Central American regimes, I never hear them taking the blame for their fall. There were Native American tribes who fought with Whites against other tribes, I never hear anyone blaming Natives for their own disappearance. Anywhere you look in history, there are people who cooperate with the oppressors, but only Black people are to blame for their own peril.

Ya'll need to stop this notion that "them nikkas gave us up and dint even try to retaliate or rescue us", because most of you dont even know the history. Portuguese, Dutch, and more who went into Africa to obtain slaves were regularly slaughtered by African militias. It was the greed and coercion of a few that led to Africans selling other Africans out to the Europeans.

I said it once, i'll say it again...a lot of africans don't like black people. Paul Mooney made a funny point, that if any other group had their own people murdered and taken away from them, it would mean war. Them nikkas just c00ned it up for massa and helped rally em on the ships.

Paul Mooney is a simpleton comedian. I like his comedy but u shouldn't put too much stock in his simplistic analysis of historical black on black relations.

What needs to be understood is that in West Africa,

1. There was no centralized nation state across the region to facilitate this "declaration of war".

2. It was the leadership (Kings and Queens) who Black conscious nationalists are always praising ...that were cooperating or at least complicit in the sale of their own people to Europeans and Arabs..NOT THE COMMON MAN. The common African man probably didn't know what was taking place.

3. Today, in West Africa there are about 15 countries (in ECOWAS) if you go back to the time of the trans-atlantic slave trade triple that number and you will start to see the amount of sovereign, independent political units in the region. Keep in mind that back then they weren't communicating nor did they have any repetoire with each other.
