Are you honestly going to say KG is a player you're going to look back on and discuss his legacy and impact on the game? I'm not hating on him, he's a great player, a first ballot HOF, and was put in an unfortunate situation in MN. But when you think of the recent era, you think of Kobe, Duncan, and Shaq, and later on Lebron. KG's whole career before 08 is forgettable.
So you gonna act like David Rob wasn't averaging 20 and 10 when Duncan first came to the league and even when he was older still a guaranteed double double waiting to happen, stats dont lie
Great article btw if you have the time
How exactly is Garnett playing better this season? I keep asking people that and no one can really answer it. It's close, but KG is averaging 15 and 8 in 31 minutes and Duncan is averaging 15 and 9 in 28 minutes. I think people haven't really watched Duncan this year and are basing this assessment on the end of last year when he had two injured knees and was getting worked by Gasol and Z-Bo in the playoffs.Duncan has had the better career easily...
KG has been playing better the past 2 seasons I will give him that. Duncan has lookedfor a while now. That Game 1 against the Clippers was nice to see tho.
I wasn't saying that Pierce was a better player than KG. That's different from legacy. Legacy is about your impact and how you're remembered. Pierce probably has a more impactful legacy on the game than KG in the eyes of most fans because of his memorable moments. The 08 finals where he was MVP and guarded by the best player in the game at the time...the shootout with Lebron in the ECF semis...the comeback he led against the Nets...his game-winners and closing moments. Being Mr. Celtic since Bird retired. KG will be remembered for yelling and first round exits.Anyone that wins the MVP award will be remembered by me most likely... Usually those players had something special about them that they did differently and better then everyone else that made them stand out... The fact that KG is still playing at 36 will also help me remember his legacy more to be honest... $hit, any star player that has won a title in the 15 years that I've watched basketball will have legacies that I will remember... If you watch bball you'll remember their legacy...
Garnett definitely had an impact on the game just based off the fact that he restarted the high school to pros trend and for his physical stature, he did and can do some amazing things... How many straight out of high school flops have their been since KG that haven't done nearly as much as he has... Kobe and Lebron are pretty much the only one who top him and look at how amazing they have to be...
Marbury, Googs, Spree, Terrell Brandon, Sam I am... he had some help in Minny. One trip out of the 1st is pathetic.
How come Duncan could win a ring with Rasho at C and the 2nd best player being a 20 ppg scorer but KG couldn't?
he really didn't have that much help duke. And that is due to the Hibbing Doofus and Mankato Moron.
Duncan had inherent advantages KG just could not have.
Put it like this. Rasho is meh in the grand scheme of things regarding the centers Duncan has played with. Rasho is sadly the best center my team has ever had.
It's 2012 and people still try to think it was something other than management /ownership that fukked things up primarily.
I would rip Victor Von Doom to shreds, but he's a Spurs fan. I hate him, but I understand.
