Cam and MAse say Shakur is "boring" and I understand we all want to see aggression in a fight, but every fight can't be like Hagler v. Hearns round 1 because every fighter ain't built like them. What's the boxers primary goal, to be exciting, or win? Some of this same criticism was thrown at Mayweather during his career because he was a defensive specialist but he's 50-0 and filthy rich.
Mayweather vs Gatti was a master class. While he has always been defensive-minded, Floyd boxed a much more fan-friendly style during his Pretty Boy phase.
So don't criticize anybody on the field/court/ring unless you can do it yourself?
What does that have to do with being boring. You can be boring and also be able to beat somebody up in a street fight. The two aren't mutually exclusive.
There's plenty of punchers in boxing but there are very very few that can avoid punches....... that's a higher level of mastery imo..... if I wanted to see bums fight I would watch mmaIn combat sports, certainly. Look at the boxers who took a lot of damage just to be exciting.
Gotta look after yourself, that's why I don't judge 'boring' boxers.
Like I said, become a pro and show us how it's done. But a vast majority of people will not do that.
While he has always been defensive-minded, Floyd boxed a much more fan-friendly style during his Pretty Boy phase. Has Shakur's style ever been entertaining to the casual observer? The casuals are the ones who bring in revenue for the sport.
At the end of the day, all sports is entertainment and if he's not entertaining it's not disrespectful at all to point that out.
I understand what WE as fans want, but do you think a boxers primary goal should be to win and not get your head knocked off or to entertain? What other sport can you name that the athletes primary goal is to entertain? If so every play in foot ball would be deep throws and the NBA would look more like AND 1 from back in the days. The only "sport" where I see the participants focusing on entertaining is wrestling. But I agree it is not disrespectful to point that out and Shakur needs to get out of his feelings.Boxing fans are getting tired of this chatty patty constantly chirping about how he's the best in boxing and gonna finish someone in round __ of his next fight only for it to be a complete snooze fest littered with boos and people leaving early.
