He refuses to protect himself which is even worse. He had the 1st down, there was no fukking reason to dive head first into a player smh. He was looking real bad and shaky walking to the locker room too...

I don't think he'll retire. The contract and the guilt of walking away will compel him to return at some point this season. But clearly Miami fukked up. Sure it's a lot easier to get worse at QB than better at QB in the NFL but somebody has to take a risk one day. Giving mediocre QBs with questionable medical records a massive contract isn't a good idea. Miami was getting outclassed before Tua got hurt too, so it's not like they are contending for shyt.
The contract is meaningless in regard to his future quality of life. This man is headed toward Junior Seau territory…a very dark unfortunate place. I hope his family is strong enough to be honest with him. Sad situation.

He can clearly do the things to mitigate his injuries but it’s interesting how public opinion changes. Several years ago this same scenario results in the public saying the sport is too dangerous.

Now it’s the players fault. (Again not saying he can’t do his part)

I think he truly thought that he was "healed". It's just crazy, you see how Lamar avoids direct hits..a lot of QBs able to avoid big head on hits. Tua simply cannot.
Tua does slide though.

In that situation I’m guessing he thought he could run through Hamlin. He’s significantly bigger than him.

We are talking in hindsight now but I would guess a large portion of QBs run through Hamlin in that situation

The hits he had before were from him hitting his head on the ground after being tackled if I remember correctly. This hit was completely different and avoidable... it made no sense for him to do it other than him trying to prove a point.

When they showed the replay angle where you could see him close his eyes and brace for impact and then his had just jams into dude's body, it just looked like he had no business doing that shyt.

Yes. The rest of his life is in danger

He should go on the 4-week IR AT MINIMUM. Miami has to take a QB next year.

I think he should retire, but if he for whatever chooses not to, Miami basically has to hit him with a "One more of these, and we won't put you out there ever again."

He needs to stop now. Unfortunately, he will play again and the NFL will completely be fine with it cause make our money. He's going to get concussed again it's just a matter of time:francis:

That was Tua's fault. Hamlin was preparing to tackle him and Tua's turned his head which hit Hamlin's stomach. Tua should have slid. That could have easily been avoided
I agree with that but that wasn't even a particularly violent hit. I guess the previous concussions have taken their toll.

I don't see how anyone in good conscience would put Tua out there to play again.

I think he should retire…but it’s ultimately Tua and his family’s decision.

If he wants to die out there on the field that’s his right. It’s no secret that football is a violent game and anyone who steps on that field understands the risk.

I don't think he guaged it was Hamlin and decided to run through him, I think his mindset was just about it being 4th down and not wanting to slide short.
