he also picked the blackest guy in the room..remember he calls dude a mutt on his first day back on the job...direct reference to the Feech Lamanna story about his "day one" in prison and how he "spots the biggest blackest muthafukka he could find"
I thought that dude was straight up Italian?

He was Italian , the other poster is making shyt up. There is noway in the world a none Italian would ever drive the boss of the family.
So what your saying is he called him a mutt because he was full blooded Italian...and I'm making shyt up:smugdraper:
Tony : "So you are gonna argue with me...you fukking mutt"
chances are if he called the cat a mutt he was mixed with something...maybe Sicilian and we all know about that lineage :sas1:

Again so fukking what? He was from Naples you dumb shyt, his aunt was the mob boss from season 2 , tony picked him because of the conversation he had with Melfi in her office when he said he guys were questioning his orders and she told him of course since he was the Alfa male and he was recovering from being shot his crew would probe him for weakness , so she told him to act as if nothing ever changed. He picked him because all of the other guys would not strike him as being the boss but so since he was new and a known hot head he would try Tone. Remember the scene in the car when the other driver cuts them off and he flies of the handle ready to fight the other guys? Most likely you didn't pay attention to that because his uncle is Carlo who is from America like his father . Hence he is a mutt . Perry is not black so get off that non sense.

:what:

Calling someone a mutt in the context of the show doesn't mean he is mixed.

It's a word that has been used in other Mob movies. Joe Pesci called Billy Batts a mutt in that bar scene when Batts tells him to get his fukking shine box.

First...:umad: stop acting like a hoe and don't resort to calling names to prove your point, when challenged calm down and act like a real "Alfa" male:heh: ...I'm sure the writer's of the Sopranos knew for sure what a mutt means in North Jersey...I got fam there and they don't call mixed dudes mutts based on anything other than race...the scene from the car is a good point but melfi didn't give Tony an exact guideline on who to attack...Feech's story did and oh yeah Mr Knowledgeable...Mr I pay great fukking attention, who was Perry's American father?.... and tell me that without calling me a name ...or just stfu

His last name was "Perry Annunziata", which means his father is also Italian.

understood...but no one is saying why that man calls Perry a "mutt"
maybe its because I'm black and when we call someone a mutt that means the person is mixed with something...when an italian says it ...its means basically dog? I just watched the billy batts scene and it has to mean nothing because they clipped pesci for that body...because to become a made guy billy's lineage could be traced to the old country... thanks breh

Alpha. iPhone didn't spell check. His father was Carlo Gervasi brother a man who is doing life in the Feds. On another note do you really think Tone would have a none Italian drive him? If you paid attention to season 2 when he went Naples he was impressed by how everyone over there stood tall and was on point. That is why he got Furio and why during the same season Perry was on the show he brought over the two killers to kill Rusty for Johnny Sac. He brought that same guys over to kill Phil . Perry was related to them .

If ever someone was going to get killed it was this guy. This fukking a$$hole was all over the place with the disrespect and recklessness. I had the :myman: look while he was getting killed.
While I agree he was an as he didn’t deserve to get killed. Not then

earlier maybe but but then

Ralph was a deadman regardless.
Skimmed the esplanade after Carmine and Johnny told him no.
Didn’t pay Paulie his full share of the robbery money.
Vito was the real brains of the crew and was due for a bump being he was married to Phil’s cousin.
Habitually line stepper.
He harbored an informant in his crew.

the catch 22 is he was tony's highest earner by far. dude was like a walking ATM, which is why he thought he could talk and act so reckless.
No, Vito was his highest earner. He worked under Ralph but if you listened , he ran the construction better and he brought more business to the crew with much less headaches than Ralph.
