He picked him because all of the other guys would not strike him as being the boss but so since he was new and a known hot head he would try Tone. Remember the scene in the car when the other driver cuts them off and he flies of the handle ready to fight the other guys? It's a word that has been used in other Mob movies. Joe Pesci called Billy Batts a mutt in that bar scene when Batts tells him to get his fukking shine box.

Alpha. iPhone didn't spell check. His father was Carlo Gervasi brother a man who is doing life in the Feds. On another note do you really think Tone would have a none Italian drive him? If you paid attention to season 2 when he went Naples he was impressed by how everyone over there stood tall and was on point. That is why he got Furio and why during the same season Perry was on the show he brought over the two killers to kill Rusty for Johnny Sac. He brought that same guys over to kill Phil .
