Should the NBA possibly look at the NHLs New All Star format for ideas?

The problem isn't the format (imo), but the fact players don't care one bit about the game. It's all "business" now, and whatever one does in the All-Star game doesn't make them win anything really (except for the MVP). Bragging rights don't seem to matter anymore, don't seem to care if they lose by 30. Changing the format won't make it anymore important for the players.
not a bad idea. They could get rid of that shooting challenge. Not sure what it's called but it seems unnecessary. Just used to highlight the women and veteran players. Didn't they have a horse game a few years back? That might be something to consider.

The NHL All Star Game is hated by its fans and its players. Dudes literally go out of there way to skip it. The NBA All Star Game is still extremely popular and no one ever skips it. If aint broke dont fix it.
Or the NBA getting the 3-point line from the ABAwhy would a more popular league look at a less popular league for tips ? That'd be like Coca Cola looking into what RC Cola does for advertising

Last 2 minutes are always competitive. For an exhibition game, this as good as it can get, and still more watchable than all the other major all star games.

i wish it was more wild in the nba. like put a 12 second shot clock or something
for the like the first quarter of the NBA ASG there's a few missed alley oops in stuff and some behind the back passes, but then it gets old by the 2nd quarter and everybody starts missing shots and playing 0 defense. I really loved when hakeem and mutombo came out and played with the pros for the Africa game, would be cool to see MJ suit up again (prolly a reach) but why not have legends play a lil bit. fukk it, throw in a 4 pt line for stephen curry ...who cares it's the all star game

I think it's really people having issue with the Dunk Contest and how it's basically went from being THE most think talked about on Monday after the All Star break and now it's 3rd after the game and the 3point contest. Hell, the skills competition has been more intriguing
Most players don't care about the wll star weekend but scrapping boring 5 on 5 for this is better
In the NBA they should add a 3 v 3 game game on the Saturday night, have like 5 teams each with a captain and let them choose the other two players
