Kobe is still an elite player and he's still a huge draw. Kobe's contract is well earned and not the problem.

The problem is they overpaid Bynum for years and now it's looking like they overpaid Gasol also. add to that Ron's big ass contract and the new CBA and that's where the problems are.

Brolic... Alcoholics
Should they? maybe so..
But they can't

LA will burn down the Staples Center.

it continues to be the dumbest shyt ever.

whats the sense in bringing in some "new young talent" just to be 2nd round exits again. look at the teams that are left in the Conference Finals. Boston, OKC, SA, MIA. what do they have in common? they have some muhfukkin' superstars.

you aint getting pass the 2nd round with B Level talent. you nikkas need to wake up and get off that Moneyball shyt. its rarely ever worked in basketball.

Just looked at some cap stuff league wide and the only players who Kobe could be traded for are Dirk/Extra and 2 of the big 3 in Miami.

He is untradeable

Shoulda coulda woulda.....

And Odom would have likely played like shyt for the Lakers too. I'm not even sure Chris Paul would have made that much of a difference with how the other perimeter players kept missing wide open shots.

He earned the contract and the Lakers will make their money from having him but from a pure basketball side, Kobe makes about the same as OKC's big 3 combined. That's what makes that contract a problem.

I'd still say Pau and Bynum's contracts are worse.

Bynum has only played one full season.

Pau hasn't been performing up to his contract at all (though he's still performing well).

While Kobe's contract is a big hurdle I'm not gonna say it's the main problem when he's performing up to that contract.

Lakers have been overpaying certain guys for a while now and it's really caught up to them with the new CBA.

i like kobe; but being honest the best move for the lakers would be to trade him. Especially if they believe bynum is the future. you can get some really great players for kobe; and its obvious this system isnt gonna win them a ring in the next 2 years.
